At PQA, we’re proud to do things a little differently. Since 2007, we’ve been offering a diverse range of classes in Film and Television, Comedy and Drama, and Musical Theatre for our Main Academy students (ages 6-18).

Our Poppets classes are designed for 4-6-year-olds, offering a fun and engaging introduction to singing, dancing, acting, and storytelling. These early years classes spark creativity, nurture confidence, and lay the foundation for a lifelong love of the performing arts.

A Unique, Fun Approach to Performing Arts Education

A Unique, Fun Approach to Performing Arts Education

At Pauline Quirke Academy (PQA), we specialise in performing arts training for young people aged 4–18, offering fun classes in acting (drama), musical theatre, and film & television (TV).

Our unique approach combines creative learning with real industry experience, giving children and young people the confidence to try, explore, discover and gain a sense of achievement both on stage and in everyday life. Through our structured yet supportive environment, young people develop essential life skills, including confidence, communication, teamwork, and resilience.

Learning Through Doing: Project-Based Performing Arts Training

We are proud of our student-led, project-based learning approach, where children and young people gain practical experience by working on performances, productions, and screen-based Film and TV projects. This hands-on method mirrors the real world of performing arts, helping students understand how the industry works while building practical skills.

Our unique PQA learning framework encourages students to explore a wide range of the performing arts world, including genres, styles, and themes, ensuring they develop well-rounded performing arts skills while growing as individuals.

More than performing arts classes, we put young people first. Whether students want to pursue a career in acting, theatre, or film, or simply build confidence and creativity, our classes support personal development alongside professional-standard training.

Building Confidence and Self-Belief Through Performing Arts

Building Confidence and Self-Belief Through Performing Arts

At PQA, our mission is to build confidence and self-belief in young people through engaging performing arts classes in acting, musical theatre, and film & television.

Our sessions provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where children and teens feel empowered to express themselves, take creative risks, and develop their unique voice. Through drama exercises, singing, and filmmaking projects, students grow in confidence while developing essential communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Whether a student is shy, outgoing, or somewhere in between, our approach helps every young person discover themselves and build self-esteem, skills that benefit them both on and off the stage.
