Alisha McRoberts

Hi everyone! Despite coming from a more scientific background, I have always loved the theatre and being involved in performing arts. As a teenager, drama classes helped me build my self-esteem and develop the confidence I needed to go on and be successful at university. During my time at The University of Manchester, I was involved in the pantomime society as a performer and as a stage manager for a number of years (Oh yes I was!) Now, I regularly attend the theatre and occasionally review shows. Some of my favourite shows are Blood Brothers, Ocean at the End of the Lane, and Come from Away. I am autistic and a power wheelchair user with a keen interest in disability rights and accessibility. As Vice Principal of PQA St Helens, I look forward to helping make the academy as accessible as possible and I look forward to meeting you all.

Amy Roberts

Hello, I'm Amy and I'm thrilled to be joining PQA St Helens as the teacher for musical theatre! I have been teaching the performing arts for over 13 years where I specialise in private singing and piano lessons for little ones and grown-ups. I trained as an actor and have worked extensively as an actor-musician across the UK and Italy. When I'm not teaching or acting, I also work as theatre director in the North West. I can't wait to meet the talented students at PQA St Helens and to start making magic!

Kemi Carty

Hi my name is Kemi-Ann, I love performing and the creative arts. This paired with working in the development of young children, and watching them learn and grow is something I’ll always enjoy. I used to be a PQA student myself and took away so much from the experience. I’ve now gone onto study acting full time, as well as professional experience in the world of Film and TV. I’m excited to share my passion and knowledge with the next generation of young performers.

Kerry Mullen

Hello, I'm Kerry and I graduated with a Drama & Theatre and Film & Media studies degree in 2006 and have been teaching drama at theatres, stage schools and performing arts academies across the North West for over 15 years. I have staged children’s theatre at The Lowry, Liverpool Everyman, St Helens Theatre Royal, Altrincham Garrick and Pyramid & Parr Hall, Warrington. I love working with children and teaching drama as a specialist subject in primary, secondary and special educational needs schools. I can't wait to meet you all at PQA St Helens.

Hi, I'm Lauren, I have always loved film and the performing arts, so being able to share that passion in my role of Film & TV assistant is really exciting. I love the thrill and buzz that bounds around the academy on a Saturday and can't wait to get creative with you all.

Hey! I’m Tash and I am so excited to part of the St Helen’s team as Poppets teacher! After having my theatre debut aged 3 as a ‘long-haired lover from Liverpool,’ performing has always been a part of my journey. As a child I studied dance, musical theatre, and acting gaining ISTD dance grades, LAMDA Gold acting award and Distinction in Musical Theatre Diploma. I continued my theatrical journey to gain my degree from LJMU in drama, and further training at Hope Street Theatre and Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Theatre’s Directing courses. This led me to work with many leading theatres in the North West including The Royal Exchange, Contact Theatre, The Unity and The Everyman and Playhouse. I have always been passionate about creating safe spaces for young people to express themselves through performing arts, and since having my two children my passion for working with early years has increased! After working for leading stage schools, theatre in education companies and as a drama teacher, I set up my touring theatre company The B Tales. As a company, we work with EYFS and Primary schools, many of which are in St Helens! I’m full of energy, smiles, and cannot wait to welcome your little ones to PQA St Helens.
