PQA Richmond

PQA Richmond is a dedicated performing arts Academy at the Christ's School, with classes for children and young adults in Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre (singing and Dancing) and Film and Television.

Principal note:

We operate two Academies on a Saturday which hold classes in Film & Television, Musical Theatre and Comedy & Drama for students aged 6-18. Our team is comprised of industry professionals, with years of experience in their field.

We believe in creating and maintaining an environment which is fun and inspires our students to be able to achieve their full potential. We are passionate that performing arts has a multitude of benefits, both personally and professionally.

For each student, it will be a different journey. Perhaps this journey consists of discovering they love being on stage, gaining confidence, learning how to create a film, joining our highly successful agency Quirky Kidz and embarking on the training required for a professional career within the arts, or maybe they just want to come and have some fun on a Saturday! The list is endless! We have already seen students film for Channel 4, ITV, Sky Atlantic, Warner Brothers and record national advertisement campaigns. We also had students perform in the West End with Fred from Blue AM playing Young Charlie in 'Kinky Boots' and Ethan in Blue PM soon to star in The RSC's 'The Boy In A Dress'.

We are always looking to facilitate performance opportunities for the students. Last summer, we performed 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'Comedy of Errors' at Ham House and Garden whilst taking our Trinity exams. At Christmas, we performed a 'Peter Pan' pantomime at The ACT Theatre, Kingston. In 2019, we have already performed at Her Majesty's Theatre in the brand new musical 'Troubles A' Brewin'! Students are now working on a Musical Theatre Showcase, brand new films for our 2020 cinema screening events at Cineworld Feltham, a national Monologue Slam competition and work soon starts on 'Alice In Wonderland' to be performed next summer in a 'soon to be revealed' exciting venue!

We also have great success in Film & Television, winning both the national and regional film festivals with awards ceremonies and red-carpeted screenings at both The Everyman in Muswell Hill and the Cineworld in Leicester Square! We were runners up in Children's Media Conference national competition 'One Minute to Save The World' and we have two films shortlisted for this December's Southern Film Festival at Greenwich's Cineworld at The O2.

We are so fortunate to operate from the brand new, sparkling performing arts building at Christ's School. With a state-of-the-art dance studio, drama studio, and Film & TV space - the main challenge is getting the students to actually leave on time!

Due to high demand, limited spaces are available. If you are interested in a place at PQA Richmond, please contact me to arrange a taster session. We would love to hear from you. Alternatively, you can request a brochure or enrol online now – we look forward to welcoming you to PQA Richmond!
