Sarah Wearden - Principal PQA Bolton

Passionate about performing arts training for children and young people.

Hi, I'm Sarah, I started working at PQA as a teacher in 2013 and became Principal of PQA Southport in 2015, before opening PQA Bolton in 2016. So, I have been a part of this amazing family for nearly 10 years. Everything that PQA offers children and young people, watching my pupils grow in confidence and the enjoyment they get from expressing their imaginations, makes me love what I do.

My love for the performing arts started very early when I began learning to dance at the age of three. I attended two local dance schools and completed grades and competed in Latin, ballroom, street, freestyle, cheer, rock n roll, ballet, tap, and jazz. I also have a passion for playing piano. I studied for A-levels in Dance, Music and Drama & Theatre Studies and then moved on to the University of Cumbria to complete my degree in Drama and Education. I have always been passionate about teaching and watching children grow as performers, and after university, I went on to gain Qualified Teacher Status in Performing Arts. During this time I set up my own dance team and trained them to compete in numerous competitions and perform for many events - we especially enjoyed taking part in Britain's Got Talent and Got to Dance. Most importantly I am a mum of 4 children. My children have always been a huge reminder of how important it is to introduce performing arts to children at a young age.
