PQA Leeds East is a weekend performing arts school for children which offers performing arts sessions which combine acting, singing, dancing lessons, filming, and comedy. Our sessions take place every Saturday at Temple Moor High School.
Our weekend performing arts classes include a Comedy & Drama class, Musical Theatre class and Film & Television class for kids and young people aged 4-18. At PQA Leeds East, we are passionate about delivering first-class performing arts lessons giving children the space to learn new skills, make friends, build self-belief, all in a safe and welcoming environment while they explore the world of performing arts.
The best part, there is no need to pick just one class, PQA's weekly three-hour sessions explore:
• Comedy & Drama class: your child will learn creative play, Improv and scriptwriting
• Musical Theatre class: your child will learn to sing, dance and act for theatre
• Film & Television class: your child will start to storyboard, screenwrite, film and act for television
Led by Principal Laura and an outstanding team of teachers, we're passionate about what we do, and we strongly believe that the important life skills your child gains at PQA; like confidence, resilience and communication will stick with them throughout life!
We also have a sister academy, PQA Leeds North & Bardsey.
Different from an acting club or acting school, children delve into a breathe of activities around all elements of the performing arts. From Screenplay writing to dance classes, singing lessons and so much more! In addition to the exciting opportunities available at PQA, we also offer children the opportunity to delve into other creative aspects of the performing arts industry. Our team of industry professionals are here to help, guide and nurture your child on whichever path they choose: Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre or Television and Film. Whether that be performing on-stage at His Majesty's Theatre in the West End to seeing your child's latest Film & TV work on the big screen, there's something for everyone at PQA. Take a look below at the exciting things we have coming up at PQA Leeds East.

Laura was inspired to become involved in performing arts as a child by passionate and motivational teachers – both in school and out – and she is delighted to be able to now share her passion with the next generation of young people. Laura trained professionally at Laban Centre London (now Trinity Laban) where she had the opportunity to work with choreographers including Mark Baldwin and Mark Murphy, as well as, performing in the UK and Spain in Purcell's The Fairy Queen.
