PQA Hertford was established in 2011 and has been based at Robert Barclay Academy in Hoddesdon since 2016.
Across four academies operating from this venue, we run performing arts classes on a Friday evening, two Saturday morning sessions and a Saturday afternoon academy.
Principal Susie and her dedicated team of teachers and assistants, who all have performing arts and filmmaking backgrounds, have created a fun, professional, creative environment that lives up to the PQA ethos of “Be Yourself, Be Amazing”. Our academy has an energy like no other, and students often stay with us for a very long time!
Whether it be walking the red carpet at one of our film screening events at a local cinema or performing in theatres locally and in the West End at His Majesty’s Theatre, we have something for every young person that has a passion or curiosity for all things performing arts.
We cater for ages 4-18 years with a specifically designed ‘Poppets’ class for the 4–6-year-olds. All students aged 6-18 are split into three groups by age and get to take part in our Film and Television, Comedy and Drama and Musical Theatre modules. So, if your child is a singer/dancer, a budding thespian or aiming to be the next Steven Speilberg, we have dedicated modules to nurture and develop their talent.
Our modules are designed to encourage confidence, team spirit, performance, and filmmaking skills, all with a generous helping of creativity, passion, dedication, and fun.
Different from an acting club or acting school, children delve into a breathe of activities around all elements of the performing arts. From screenwriting to dance classes, singing lessons and so much more! In addition to the exciting opportunities available at PQA, we also offer children the opportunity to explore other creative aspects of the performing arts industry. Our team of industry professionals are here to help, guide and nurture your child across all three modules: Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre and Film & Television. Whether that be performing on-stage at His Majesty's Theatre in the West End to seeing your child's latest Film & Television work on the big screen, there's something for everyone at PQA. Take a look below at the exciting things we have coming up at PQA Hertford.

As an adult I knew acting was something I wanted to pursue, and auditioned for full time drama school in which I won a full scholarship to Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts
