Andrew Silvester

Andrew is a Videographer with experience in Cinematography, Editing and Screenwriting. Andrew attended youth theatre for much of his childhood and loved performing, however wishes there had been more filmmaking experiences available to him at a young age too. As these were unavailable, Andrew is very excited to be working at PQA to facilitate the filmmaking experiences that he would’ve loved growing up and watch young people become masters of the stage, screen and set.

Carrie Orr

Carrie has been a member of the PQA Team for just over a year now as the Green Group Assistant and is very excited to now be taking on the role of Musical Theatre Teacher! Carrie has been dancing since the age of 4 and sat many dancing exams up to Advanced Level. She joined a musical theatre group at the age of 16 and took part in many shows such as The Wedding Singer, Copacabana, 9-5 The Musical, Legally Blonde and Annie. We started a youth group within our club where Carrie was chosen as the dance coach and assisted in choreography and supporting the members with extra rehearsals with shows such as High School Musical, Camp Rock and Hairspray. More recently, Carrie lead an ABBA Workshop Masterclass for 6 weeks to help the members ease back into musical theatre after the pandemic. In June 2019 Carrie travelled to America to be a Dance Specialist for 3 months at a Summer Camp. She choreographed various dances and helped with the student's creativity and technique and was so proud of the confidence she brought out in them. She also choreographed the small theatre shows which the camps drama department did which were Footloose and Annie! Carrie currently works full time for Optical Express in the Recruitment department. This mainly involves recruiting the optometrists/surgeons to carry out laser eye surgeries and lens replacement surgeries. She enjoys going out with friends and visiting new places and hopes to be able to do more of that this year!

Hazel MacGregor

Hazel graduated from Langside College in 2005 with an HND in Acting and Performance. Since then she has worked extensively for several TIE and other theatre companies touring the UK and abroad. She is also experienced in screen acting having performed in a number of short films. As well as performing, Hazel is heavily involved with Theatre Online Ltd in a directorial and scriptwriting capacity. She has also worked as a mentor for young actors for companies such as 'The Elma Whyte School of Dance' and 'Stagerite Expressive Arts'. What's more, she has a passion for music and enjoys singing, drumming and playing the guitar. Hazel began working at PQA Glasgow as a blue group assistant after 2 weeks of the academy being open. Since then, Yasmin and the PQA Glasgow family have been unable to get rid of her for the past 7 years. PQA has become a massive part of her life and has brought her so many amazing experiences, notably directing the students for a London West End Stage. Her favourite thing about PQA Glasgow is working with the talent of the future.

Isla Douglas

Josh Knox

Josh has been a member of the PQA family for 7 years, 4 as a student and 3 as a member of staff. His love of performing has translated into his love of assisting and developing the next generation of STARS. Josh has performed in productions of Oliver! at the Royal Concert Hall, performed in and choreographed the PQA production of Peter Pan at the Edinburgh Fringe, he also starred as the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland at Edinburgh Fringe PQA Venues. He has been involved in summer schools, chaperoning at the well-renowned OVO Hydro World's Biggest Panto ‘ELF: The Musical’. He beat off stiff competition to win the Monologue Slam, judged by the wonderful Peter Mullan. Josh has also worked as a Performing Arts Specialist and Camp Counsellor for International Summer Camp UK Ltd. and as a Volunteer Mentor for IntoUniversity Craigmillar. Josh achieved his BMedSci in Psychology in 2024 and is currently completing his MbChB, both at the University of Edinburgh. His favourite part of being a member of the PQA Glasgow team is being able to watch the students of today grow into the stars of tomorrow.

Mairead Dunsmore

Mairead graduated from the MA Musical Theatre performance course at the Royal Conservatoire in Scotland in 2023. She has been a member of the team at PQA Glasgow for the last year and has loved working with the amazing kids there. Mairead has lots of experience in helping young people achieve their potential having chaperoned child performers in Nativity the Musical and Matilda the Musical and also through her varied work with the girlguiding association. She also recently directed a production of Shrek Junior for the Minerva Juniors. She loves being able to share her passion for performance with the future stars of tomorrow.
