Alex Laughton

Alex was one of our academy students when PQA Lincoln was a very new academy and played the lead character, Troy, in our production of High School Musical. He was also the clown detective in our award-winning film 'Crime Never Pays’! After PQA, Alex went on to study at The Eastern School of Performing Arts and completed a degree in Musical Theatre at the Guildford School of Acting. During his studies, he performed in numerous productions and collaborated with industry professionals, to produce work and hone his performance skills. We are so pleased to have Alex back with us at PQA, and although Alex supports on a weekly basis, he is also on hand to share his industry knowledge, and passion for performing arts, when he is needed to step in as cover teacher.

Amber Ackerman

Amber is a singer, songwriter and musician who completed her degree in Song writing at Leeds Conservatoire, producing a full album during each year of her course! Amber has a background in dance, singing and acting and experience teaching adults and children of all ages. She works one-to-one as a singing/song writing teacher and also with groups, and has directed youth productions, most recently Aladdin and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Amber’s passion for performing, and engaging others in the arts, is evident as she also regularly takes on various character roles as a Princess/Pirate/Barbie/Superhero, working for an entertainment company and leading parties of up to 50 children! Amber is really passionate about working with young people and sharing her knowledge and love of performing arts.

Emily Webb

Emily, began working with PQA as academy assistant before stepping up to take the lead in our Film and TV module! In her final year of her degree in Film Production, Emily has experience working on various film/TV sets, including working as a runner on a Netflix film, sound assistant on BBC News Night, and has worked on TedX Brayford Pool, and for several festivals. She is very passionate about performing arts. She has an A level in Theatre Studies and a Gold LAMDA Certificate (Grade 8) in Acting and having worked in Film and Theatre, has sound knowledge of performing arts and the ability to work creatively in both. Emily has always enjoyed working with children and has managed holiday clubs and worked in numerous settings. Having been with us for some time, she is familiar with how things work at PQA. Emily is great fun and knows lots of brilliant film & theatre games - and she has a super relationship with our students!

Isabelle Webster

Katie Risebrow

Katie has been training and performing since she was 5 and has taken part in numerous productions; dancing, singing and acting on the stage. Having taken a little time to work and gain more experience, Katie has now graduated with a First Class performing Arts Degree. Katie is loving working with us at PQA and brings a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to our Poppets class and to support the work we are doing in the main academy.

Noel Wensley

Noel is a musician and sound engineer who got involved in performing arts from an early age and enjoyed acting and singing before graduating onto music and the technical side of sound production and engineering. Noel has experience in studio and radio production and live sound engineering working on large-scale concerts and conferences and theatre productions. He has played with numerous bands and worked as a live and studio session musician. He particularly enjoyed performing original material and collaborating with others to make new music. These days Noel has less time to pursue music but enjoys his extensive guitar collection and works and records collaboratively whenever possible. His work demands a great deal of public speaking and Noel has been used a number of times for professional training videos within his industry. Noel has a great appreciation for all the teams that work behind the scenes and knows the hard work involved. He is thrilled to be able to share his love of music and technology and his experiences as a member of the PQA team.

Susan Freebury

Susan is an experienced actress who has a wealth of performance experience on both stage and screen and has been involved in many aspects of the industry including performing, directing and coaching. Susan has been bringing her knowledge of screen acting to our Film & Television and she also teaches our Musical Theatre module. Having begun her training at the Birmingham School of Acting, Susan's talent and dedication has afforded her many opportunities, both in theatre, where she has toured extensively and appeared on stage in West End shows at theatres such as Victoria Palace and the Prince Edward, and on television in numerous commercials and in a variety of independent short films. Susan has worked as a lecturer, a singing coach and a private vocal coach to a number of television and radio presenters. She is a talented singer and also regularly performs with a 16 piece band, a 5-piece function band and in her own solo cabaret.

Thomas Commerford

Tom graduated from The University of Lincoln with a first-class honours degree in Media Production. His course enabled him to acquire a broad knowledge of digital media and all aspects of film production. During his studies Tom gained teaching experience, working in a local school, planning and delivering CG 3D Modelling lessons to children with learning and behavioural challenges, and discovered a real enjoyment of working with young people. Tom has joined the team at PQA to support our Film & TV module and bring his calm and positive approach to our filmmaking projects.
