Our students in PQA Cardiff PM have just wrapped up - "Big Screen Classics" This film project has been nothing short of a whirlwind adventure, bringing some of the most iconic scenes from famous movies to life right here in our classroom!

Our students dove headfirst into the world of cinema, studying the scripts of beloved films to understand not just the dialogue, but the emotions and styles that made them classics. It was amazing to see them dissect these scripts and discuss character motivations, themes, and how all these elements come together to create a memorable cinematic experience.

Next, it was time to roll up their sleeves and get crafty! Students took on the exciting challenge of recreating props and costumes that would be true to the originals. Whether it was a glamorous dress from a vintage film or a quirky prop that made us all laugh, their creativity shone through every piece. It was delightful to watch as they also built the set, transforming our space into a mini-Hollywood studio! The level of detail they put into this part of the project truly amazed everyone.

Once the set was ready and the costumes were on, it was time to dive into the technical side of film-making. Students studied camera angles and shots, learning how to capture the essence of each scene effectively. They explored everything from close-ups that capture raw emotion to wide shots that frame the action beautifully. The excitement was contagious as they eagerly set up the cameras and prepared to shoot their scenes!

Finally, the moment we had all been waiting for arrived - the screening of their films! Seeing their hard work come together on the big screen was a proud moment for all of us. Each group showcased their own interpretation of classic scenes, and the creativity was off the charts!

This project not only taught our students about filmmaking but also instilled teamwork, problem-solving, and a deep appreciation for the art of cinema. We couldn’t be prouder of their dedication and passion throughout this entire process.

A big shoutout to everyone involved in making "Big Screen Classics" a resounding success! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these young filmmakers. Here’s to more creativity, storytelling, and countless movie nights ahead!
