Wickford Student Wins Screenwriters Competition

Huge congratulations are in order for 11-year-old PQA Wickford student Kinara Dyer-Tuitt who has won the PQA Young Screenwriters Competition with her film treatment for ‘Lady Oriole’.

Kinara reworks a Caribbean myth into a coming-of-age story and her talented treatment beat hundreds and hundreds of entries to win the chance of developing her film with professional filmmakers, starting later in the year.

One of the judges commented “The idea was so original. We have never read anything like this treatment. We were online researching the myth to check that it hadn’t been done before. We were extremely impressed.”

This is an incredible achievement and we are all so proud of Kinara. Fantastic work. We can’t wait to see it!
