PQA Warwick students perform with G4

On Thursday 7th December talented students from PQA Warwick were invited to perform with G4 as part of their Christmas by Candlelight Tour. They shot to fame on ITV’s first series of the X Factor in 2004, where they pioneered the world of ‘Popera’.

The amazing concert took place at St. Mark’s Church, Birmingham, to a packed audience. The evening was a huge success and saw students performing with G4 on songs including: ‘Silent Night’, ‘O Holy Night’, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ and ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’. Students were chosen to perform their own songs ‘Sleigh Ride’ and ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’.

Solos were performed by Lucinda White, Ben Slater and Imogen DeArmitt. Principal Debbie Hotten and Vice Principal and Musical Theatre teacher Frankie Smith conducted the choir for the evening.

Principal Debbie Hotten said “Once again I am extremely proud of the wonderful students in the Academy. It is a huge honour performing with G4 and this allows my students to perform with professionals on a variety of Performing Arts platforms. We have been asked to perform with them again next year!”

“This year the students from PQA Warwick have performed in the West End too – each opportunity posing and exciting and new challenge. This would not be possible without the amazing staff and commitment from both students and parents.”
