PQA Enfield presents marvellous musical movies at the Millfield Theatre
On Sunday 26th June, PQA Enfield students performed a selection of classic and contemporary Musical Theatre numbers and drama scripts to a full house of family and friends at The Millfield Theatre.
We treated our audience to a two hour show which explored some of the most popular and much loved musical movies of all time.
Green Group treated the audience to a variety of songs, scripted scenes and choreographed dance routines from Annie the musical. In Act Two, they performed a comedic devised and scripted drama piece from ‘The Twits’. Their performances were both energising and emotive.
Our Blue Group students performed a high energy Hairspray medley, and a very polished and slick drama performance from the adaptation of Roald Dahl’s much loved classic story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. The audience were treated to some very energetic dance routines which transported them back to the 1960’s. They performed ‘You Can’t Stop the Beat’ and ‘Nicest Kids in Town’, alongside beautiful renditions of ‘The New Girl in Town’ and ‘Baltimore’ as well as some scripted scenes. Their performances were both slick and professional.
Our Red Group students performed a captivating ‘Moulin Rouge’ medley in Act 1 and they ended the show with a high energy routine to Dirty Dancing’s ‘I’ve Had the Time of My Life’ as well as a beautiful lyrical dance routine to ‘She’s like the Wind’. Our PQA Barnet Red Group students took the audience back to 1950’s New York to the world of the Jets and the Sharks with their West Side Story medley. Both Red Group students also performed their Trinity Drama scripted work from the emotive psychological play ‘Find Me’.
We want to take this opportunity to thank the PQA Team for all their hard work and dedication and to our students for their commitment and hard work throughout the rehearsal process. You were yourselves and you were amazing!
