PQA Coventry wins Best Float Award
PQA Coventry PM Academy wins Best Float Award at the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Birmingham!
PM Academy students and parents joined together with staff to take part in this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade in Birmingham on Sunday 13th March. Birmingham hosts the second largest St Patrick’s Day parade in the world with over 10,000 people in attendance.
As students have been exploring Irish myths and legends and real life stories of Irish immigrants in the UK as part of the St Patrick’s Day festivities, Principal Rosie Gallagher entered the Academy into the parade so students could experience Irish culture at its best first hand.
Parents and students had a wonderful day and it was a real proud moment when the Lord Mayor of Birmingham presented Rosie and the students with a trophy for ‘Best Float’.
Students had their pictures taken by The Irish Post, The Harp, Birmingham Mail and the Coventry Telegraph. Students were also featured on BBC Midlands News and will be featured on Irish TV on Weds 16th March at 9pm.
We’ll be returning next year to defend our title!
