PQA Conwy Boys to Star in Priscilla!
Two boys from PQA Conwy have been selected to play the role of ‘Benji’ in the upcoming professional tour of “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” when it comes to Rhyl Pavilion this September! Over 200 boys auditioned for the role in June this year. Dylan and Oliver, both in Blue Group, will be sharing the role.
“Priscilla” is being produced by Jason Donovan, who the students worked with during their audition in London. We’re all really excited for the boys, who will also star alongside actor Joe McFadden.
Oliver says, “When I found out, I was really excited that I had got the part for Benji. I have really enjoyed going down to London for auditions and rehearsals. It’s been just great working with Joe MacFadden and Jason Donovon and all the others and I have learnt lots about working in the theatre.”
Principal April says, “Teachers and students alike at PQA Conwy are really proud of both boys! They have both been working so hard and I am so pleased they will be representing PQA Conwy in such a fantastic show. What an incredible opportunity for them both. Thank you to our agency, Quirky Kidz, for their hard work on the casting of “Priscilla” and their brilliant support. We can’t wait to see the show!”
Most importantly, we all hope that both students enjoy the experience. As Dylan says, “I love acting, singing and dancing and I can’t wait for the shows! I am really happy and grateful I was chosen to do this. I want to thank my PQA Principal April for believing in me.”
