PQA Bristol at the Empire Film Festival

PQA Bristol PM triumph at the PQA Empire Film Festival 2016

Every 2 years, in partnership with Empire Cinemas, PQA runs a Film Festival where the top
student films developed in Film & TV classes are selected for screening at the most famous cinema
in the country; The Empire Leicester Square, home to many big film premieres.
All colour groups in both PQA Bristol AM and PM submitted an entry to the festival and PM Red
and Blue groups each won in their category.

Blue group won in the ‘3 Minute Wonder’ category which was intended to show the very best an
Academy could achieve, with their film called ‘The Maid, The Shoe and The Bed Pan.
Red group won in the ‘Fancy shorts’ category for their film entitled ‘The Detention Queens’.
Our Film&TV teacher Ben worked on all 6 films along with our Vice Principal, Livvie and our
supportive assistant and helpers, Rob, Amy, Rosie, Georgia and Sophie.
This is very exciting for both Bristol Academies as it means we will be represented at the screening.

Over 250 entries were submitted and only 18 Academies will be represented on the day; so we can
feel very proud of what PQA Bristol has achieved.
This is a massive achievement for PQA Bristol as a whole, our Film Department and the PQA
Team, so well done to everyone involved!
