An evening of Shakespeare

An evening of Shakespeare

On the 12th July 2018 PQA Cardiff AM academy performed ‘An evening of Shakespeare’ at the Great Hall in Howells school, what a fantastic night it was!

Shakespeare can be very daunting, but PQA Cardiff absolutely rocked it, the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet was performed by our Red Group.  A huge ensemble number including fantastic fight work and a tear-jerking wedding.  The madness of Macbeth was performed by Green group, a physical theatre inspired piece created by green group themselves including some great monologues and interactions telling a very spooky story.  And finally, the wonderful Midsummer Nights Dream performed by our Blue group, a fantastic interpretation of characters and the text making for a very, very funny performance!

We couldn’t be prouder of the students work on these shows, their commitment and understanding of Shakespeare was fantastic and the final product was a joy to watch!

All three group entered the performances into Trinity group examinations and all passed! Greens with a pass, Blues with a distinction and Reds with merit!

Congratulations PQA Cardiff!
