Arlene Tonner

Passionate about performing arts training for children and young people.

Arlene has been performing from a young age, joining Glasgow’s Live & Loud Stage School as a teen and signing with Cairns Casting during her time there. This led to early screen work, including appearances in Jeopardy for CBBC and several episodes of BBC Scotland’s River City. She then went on to train in Drama and Musical Theatre at Langside College, performing in pantomimes such as Pinocchio and The Hobbit, as well as productions of Cementville, The Passion, and A Clockwork Orange.

She later graduated with a BA (Hons) in Music from The Open University. Her love of performing has taken her from early cabaret and variety shows to roles in The Mikado and Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, where she played Petra. Today, Arlene continues to perform in large-scale charity productions, sings at weddings and events, and leads a community choir supporting those affected by breast cancer. Musical theatre has always been Arlene’s greatest passion, she loves the power of storytelling through song and the way music can connect, uplift, and move people. Arlene knows the magic that happens when young people step into the spotlight, the confidence, the friendships, the joy, and she’s passionate about helping PQA students discover all of it for themselves. She can’t wait to cheer them on as they grow, shine, and surprise themselves every week.
