James Aconley - Principal PQA Beverley

Passionate about performing arts training for children and young people.

With a deep passion for the performing arts and a commitment to providing top-quality tuition, I ensure that students at PQA have an exciting and supportive environment to learn and grow. My background spans performance, teaching, and community-focused projects. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching singing and drama at various youth theatres and schools, as well as facilitating workshops for diverse groups.

My professional journey includes working across a range of entertainment sectors—from summer shows and musicals to cabaret. I’ve been producing and directing my own theatre productions since 2009, with shows touring Northern England, resident theatre performances, and even summer seasons at Europe’s largest open-air theatre. I also perform a solo cabaret show for hotels, restaurants, and private events. With a First-Class BA (Hons) in Theatre from York St John University, I’m proud to bring my skills, experience, and love of the arts to PQA. It’s my goal to nurture our students’ self-confidence, skills, and joy in performing, preparing them not just for the stage but for all aspects of life.
