PQA Peterborough is a weekend performing arts school for children, offering high-quality performing arts classes every Saturday morning and afternoon at Thomas Deacon Academy.
Our weekly classes include Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre and Film & Television for children and young people aged 4-18. At PQA Peterborough, we are passionate about delivering first-class performing arts sessions giving children the space to learn new skills, make friends, build self-belief, all in a safe and welcoming environment while they explore the world of performing arts.
The best part, there is no need to pick just one class, PQA's weekly three-hour sessions explore:
• Comedy & Drama class: your child will learn creative play, Improv and scriptwriting
• Musical Theatre class: your child will learn to sing, dance and act for theatre
• Film & Television class: your child will start to storyboard, screenwrite, film and act for television
Run by Principal Michael Clay and an exceptional team of teachers, we're passionate about what we do, and we strongly believe that the important life skills your child gains at PQA - like confidence, resilience and communication - will stick with them throughout life!
We empower children to delve into other creative aspects of the performing arts industry. Our team of industry professionals are here to help, guide and nurture your child on whichever path they choose – Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre or Television and Film. Whether that be performing on-stage at His Majesty's Theatre in the West End to seeing your child's latest Film & TV work on the big screen - there's something for everyone at PQA. Take a look below at the exciting things we have coming up at PQA Peterborough.

Michael began his life on stage in primary school, where he played the role of 'Shephard number 3' in the Year 6 nativity. His one line, "and Myrrh", sparked a love of Drama and the world of Theatre. Alongside his role as Head of Drama at a local Secondary School, Michael is often involved with local Amateur Dramatics groups in the area. He is a firm believer that Drama is an incredible tool to help young people understand and interact with the world around them in a positive way.
