Amy Hope-Thompson

I'm Amy, and I'm delighted to be the Poppets teacher at PQA Wirral! Since leaving Calday Grange Grammar School at 18, I have been pursuing my love of drama in my gap year, with the aim of going to drama school in the near future. Alongside my work at the academy, I am part of Off The Ground Youth Theatre as an Actor and Assistant Tutor to one of their groups. Recent performances with them have seen me tour the UK & Ireland in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, and Billy the Kid, a play written by OTG. I am thrilled to be teaching for PQA Wirral, going on adventures in the classroom each week, with our super imaginative Poppets!

Carl Loughlin

Carl gained a BA degree in Drama, TV and Film at Aberystwyth University in 2003. After working as a Redcoat at Butlins and on the production team of BBC Eastenders he returned to Wirral, and started acting training at Manchester School of Acting for 3 years and then Act Up North in Liverpool for 3 years. Past short films include LoveSwiped (2016) and Tellin'Dad (2017). Tellin'Dad stars Ricky Tomlinson and is set for DVD release with Peccadillo Pictures in November 2017. Theatre Credits include White Christmas at Liverpool Empire and Jekyll and Hyde at Floral Pavillion. Passionate about acting and the local arts, he has been teaching drama in after school clubs in Wirral schools since 2006 and is excited to be teaching at PQA Wirral!

Eleanor Smith

Laura Steventon

Laura supports Rob in overseeing everything at PQA Wirral as the Academy Manager. Laura has always loved the theatre, and has been a member of the award-winning BOST Musicals for over 20 years, performing in theatres across Merseyside, most recently in 'Shrek' and 'Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang' at the Liverpool Empire. Laura is also the lead female vocalist for the 'Northern Rhythm' Big Band. Away from performing, Laura has an MSc in Mental Health Science and works as a Learning Mentor for a high school on the Wirral, offering support and guidance to students on their 6th Form course. Laura has a passion for helping children and young people fulfil their full potential, both on and off the stage!

Phil Perez

Phil trained at Arts Educational Acting School London, Manchester Metropolitan University, & Hope Street Ltd. He is co-founder of the annual horor theatre event www.thecreep.co.uk for which he is co-writer & director. He is also an actor, photographer & film maker. His recent film 'Month of Pistols' has recently been nominated for 'best director' & 'best short' on the film festival circuit. He has vast experience as a TV & Film actor. His credits include - Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods & Kings, Emmerdale, BBC's Being Eileen, CBBC's Stepping up & Hollyoaks. Theatre Credits include Ladies Night - Liverpool Royal Court. Alice - Blackpool Winter Gardens & Bullet Shaped Heart - Greenwich Theatre. Phil is delighted to be joining the PQA team, & relishing the chance to make some exciting films with the PQA actors!
