Natalie Persaud - Principal PQA Croydon

Passionate about performing arts training for children and young people.

Hello and a big welcome to PQA Croydon! I have worked in the arts industry since I was a child. I started as a dancer at 4 years old and then trained as an IDTA dance teacher. I am very excited to be Principal of PQA Croydon as Arts and Education are my passion. I am keen to impart my skills, knowledge, and high standards to both my staff and students.

My first show at 20 years old was Dario Fo’s ‘Can’t pay? Won’t pay!’. I directed many performances such as The Snow Queen, The Visit, The Skriker, Greek, The Duchess of Malfi, Whale Music and many more shows. I even led the entire student cohort (all years, all students) single-handily through devising and performing a variety show production based around the 90’s feminist movement ‘Riot Grrl’, for a domestic abuse charity. As an educator, I was later promoted to a teaching and learning specialist where I regularly worked with teachers and lecturers, as the only qualified mentor, coaching them to improve their teaching practice whilst also training lecturers and teachers in innovations in teaching, among many other duties related to education and improvement for students. I hold a Master’s in Education specializing in Leadership and Management and I am embarking on my PhD.
