PQA High Wycombe is a weekend performing arts academy, which has been providing high-quality performing arts training in a safe and supportive environment since 2007.
Every Saturday, young people from High Wycombe and the surrounding areas aged 4-18 take part in our sessions which are designed to provide industry level performing arts training alongside essential life and social skills. Our students are given the space to learn new skills, make friends, build self-belief, all in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space while they explore the world of performing arts.
Students aged 4-6 take part in our 90 minute Poppet classes, an introduction to performing arts building skills and encouraging creativity.
Students aged 6-18 take part in a 3-hour session exploring:
• Comedy & Drama: devising, improvisation and scriptwork
• Film & Television: screenwriting, storyboarding, filming and acting for camera
• Musical Theatre: singing, dancing and acting for stage and through song
Led by Principal Liz, Vice Principal Jacqueline and a team of talented teachers, we are passionate about what we do, and we strongly believe that the important life skills your child gains at PQA - like confidence, resilience and communication - will stick with them throughout life!
PQA High Wycombe runs at Sir William Ramsay School which is a secure venue with plenty of parking. The team are all DBS checked and have safeguarding training.
As we approach our 20th year, we will be planning lots of exciting events to celebrate this amazing milestone!
Whether your child dreams of being on stage or on the big screen, or wants to build confidence, resilience and make new friends with a shared interest, PQA has something to offer!
Different from an acting club or acting school, children delve into a breathe of activities around all elements of the performing arts. From Screenplay writing to dance classes, singing lessons and so much more! In addition to the exciting opportunities available at PQA, we also offer children the opportunity to delve into other creative aspects of the performing arts industry. Our team of industry professionals are here to help, guide and nurture your child on whichever path they choose: Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre or Television and Film. Whether that be performing on-stage at His Majesty's Theatre in the West End to seeing your child's latest Film & TV work on the big screen, there's something for everyone at PQA. Take a look below at the exciting things we have coming up at PQA High Wycombe.
