PQA Beverley is a weekend performing arts academy which offers classes each Saturday morning. We welcome young people aged 4-18 from Beverley, Molescroft, Cherry Burton, Leconfield and everywhere in between.
Led by Principal James and Vice Principal Nat, along with out industry professional, DBS-checked and safeguarding-trained team, we're passionate about what we do, and we know that the important life skills your child gains at PQA - like confidence, resilience and communication - will stick with them throughout life.
Our weekly sessions include Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre and Film & Television as well as an introduction to performing arts called Poppets for our younger children.
Students aged 4-6 take part in our 90 minutes Poppets class:
• Poppets: an introduction to performing arts building skills and encouraging creativity.
Students aged 6-18 take part in out unique three-hour sessions, exploring:
• Comedy & Drama: devising, improvisation, and script work
• Film & Television: screenwriting, storyboarding, filming, and acting for camera
• Musical Theatre: singing, dancing, and acting for stage
The academy is based in the heart of Beverley at East Riding College offering our students excellent, safe and secure facilities as well as plenty of nearby parking, shops and cafes for parents!
Whether they dream of the stage, the screen, or simply want to build confidence, resilience, and friendships, PQA Beverley is the place to be.
With a love of theatre and the performing arts for over 20 years, it is a real privilege to teach at PQA, which for me, is somewhat a dream. Since teaching for PQA, I have been able to direct and produce productions including: 'Bugsy Malone'; 'Scrooge' and write a number of productions such as 'Around the World in 5 days' and 'Murder at PQA Manor' (a murder mystery based on Cluedo characters).
