Is your child aged between 6-18 years and would like to get involved in performing arts? Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) invites local families to the launch of their Bristol Friday Academy on 5th May 2023. Your child might just find a passion for performance!
which have been nurturing young performers for 15 years. Sessions take place at Cotham School, a venue renowned for its fantastic performing arts facilities. Better yet, no prior experience in performing arts is necessary.
Students are split into age groups and taught by specialist teachers. During each session, students will experience three, one-hour long rotations in the following:
PQA principal Carly Bond warmly welcomes children and young adults to the open day . Parents can stay for refreshments and to watch the classes, with the PQA team on hand to answer any questions.

PQA strongly believes in rewarding and inspiring its students. Alongside regular reports to monitor their progress, students are awarded qualifications through Rock School London at no additional charge to parents.
Along with in-house productions, showcases and specialist masterclasses, PQA students have the chance to see their short film projects on the big screen of their local cinema, where they get to walk down the red-carpet, Hollywood-style!
Some films are even selected for the PQA Film Festival at Cineworld in Leicester Square. Students will also take part in a professionally produced show in London’s glittering West End!

Yes! Every academy offers one free trial session, as long as there is space available in the age group. If the group is currently full, you can join the waiting list, and we’ll contact you as soon as a place becomes available.
PQA runs for 41 weeks throughout the school year. You can find the full list of term dates on each academy’s webpage, just search for your local academy and visit its web page.
PQA provides performing arts training for children and teens aged 4–18. Our Main Academy (ages 6–18) includes three core classes:
Some academies also offer Poppets (ages 4–6), an energetic 90-minute class introducing young children to singing, dancing and acting.
PQA welcomes all children, whether they’re complete beginners or already confident performers. There’s no audition needed to join.
At PQA students in Main Academy are grouped by age, learning with other children and young people at similar stages.
This depends on where you feel your child will be happiest. Some 6-year olds are ready to join the 6-9 age group in Main Academy, others will feel more comfortable starting in Poppets.
