Michael Clay - Principal PQA Peterborough

Passionate about performing arts training for children and young people.

Michael began his life on stage in primary school, where he played the role of 'Shephard number 3' in the Year 6 nativity. His one line, "and Myrrh", sparked a love of Drama and the world of Theatre. Alongside his role as Head of Drama at a local Secondary School, Michael is often involved with local Amateur Dramatics groups in the area. He is a firm believer that Drama is an incredible tool to help young people understand and interact with the world around them in a positive way.

After studying BA Hons in Performing Arts (Dance) at Canterbury Christ Church University (where he achieved a 2.1), Michael took a year to explore directing and teaching Drama in schools, before completing an NQT in Secondary Drama (with QTS) at the University of Sussex in 2016. Since then, he has enjoyed leading directing yearly Whole School Productions, alongside his teaching duties, in a variety of Secondary Schools across the country. In 2021, Michael made his return to stage in the original production of 'GuyMart', and has since been involved in productions with the Stamford Showstoppers and the Seaton Starlights, most recently taking the role of Kenickie in 'Grease'.
