PQA Wolverhampton – Elf the Musical
Press Release: Wednesday, 28 December 2022
Elf the Musical – Step Into Your Spotlight
PQA Wolverhampton students were amongst hundreds of students
performing at Birmingham’s NEC in the Christmas Spectacular.
Students from the PQA Wolverhampton morning and afternoon academies
came together to perform in ELF The Musical at the huge Arena in
Birmingham just before Christmas. They rehearsed separately and were
brought together on the day under the Musical Direction of our amazing MT
Teacher Emily.
Joining also with 3 other academies on the day they formed a huge choir to
support the performance with students on both sides of the arena. “It was a
hugely fun experience for the students”, said Principal Julian, “to perform in
such a huge venue is so different from the normal performing experience, it
demands a different set of skills. It’s also something they will remember for
the rest of their lives”.
Parents were able to book discounted tickets for the performance and see
the show while the students all left with an ‘ELF’ T-Shirt as a memento of the
event. After the performance the whole group came together for a group photo in
the backstage area of the show.
Students will be moving on to a variety of work after Christmas, the older
students are preparing for the National Theatre Connections performances
while younger students will be looking at Jukebox musicals and recreating
famous scenes from movies.
