They were joined by family and friends to watch a varied programme of work made by the students in their Film & Television module throughout the year.
Our Film & Television module is very different to the rest of the curriculum. Students get to experience every aspect of film-making through skills-based lessons. this doesn't just include acting onscreen (which actually takes a bit of a back-seat), as they get the chance to pitch ideas for short films, create scripts and storyboards, as well as try their hand at directing, operating the camera, using sound equipment and other production roles. This all helps develop an understanding of the interwoven skills and vital job roles that make up the film and TV industry.
Students had worked from a mixture of real film and TV scripts as well as creating material of their own. All groups worked very hard and collaborated well to create their film repertoire.
The event ended with every filmmaker being awarded a medal for their outstanding contribution and a mini awards ceremony.
