Academy Locations:

In June, we took our morning academy students to London, to Shaftesbury Theatre, to tread the boards as professional actors in our very own musical, The Lazy Ace!

The experience was amazing! The memories created will live forever in the hearts of all of us. The students also gained distinctions in their 'in production' Trinity exam, for their outstanding performance. Trinity themselves were very impressed with the young actors:

"The easy flow of the production showed that they had understood the workings of a West End theatre and had a good level of back stage discipline."

"There was a clear excitement from the whole of PQA Derby that elicited a positive response from the audience. They were clearly well prepared and responded to the challenge with boldness and enthusiasm."

Our parents and guardians also enjoyed what they watched.

"Thank you to all your staff for the encouragement and the care you showed."

"Wow! Wow! Wow indeed! And thanks! Thanks! Thanks! The standard of singing from PQA Derby was astonishing."

"I would like to say a big thank you to you for how you have encouraged my daughter to have such confidence to perform how she did. I was extremely impressed, as were our family and friends who came to watch the show"
"Work and dedication is the essence! And this is what PQA Derby exudes!"

"Many thanks to you Dean for your dedication and spirit of fun which the children love and is so often lacking in many other activities for kids."

"This is a great reflection of the person in charge, yourself, who quite clearly puts everyone's enjoyment and well- being in front of their own. Your encouragement and enthusiasm shines through the children, young people and staff and ensures everyone gives nothing but their best."

"The confidence and professionalism that the students displayed was amazing. Many have indeed the talent and enthusiasm to carry on in the profession, others will be able to transfer these skills to all areas of their lives and future careers. This was a day to remember and be so very proud of."
