Over 400 people attended and saw students perform drama inside a specially constructed marquee while musical theatre work was performed on an outdoor stage and in front of it. What an amazing day it was!
The weather was phenomenal, the students were amazing and we loved it!
This was our first ever festival but we were determined to give students the festival experience from wristbands on arrival to headline acts at the end of the day.
Each academy had a 15 minute slot for each discipline throughout the day and the Poppets also had their own performance space and slots before the main stages began.
Students and guests could take selfies at a special selfie station and we even had a beach for the little ones to enjoy the weather. As we clashed with the quarter finals of the World Cup we even arranged a Footie Area for people to keep an eye on the game on a massive TV.
On arrival students were met by a stilt walker dressed as a ringmaster before entering the main arena ready for shows to begin.
The heat made for a tiring day, staff got through over 150 bottles of water and soft drinks in the two days of setup and the festival itself, but it was worth it to see it all come together on the day.
We have had some great feedback from parents who attended, we have learned lots from the experience and it was our first attempt at organising something on this scale...
Had a great day. Thank you to you all for organising it. Lovely to see all the Academies together enjoying the day. Thank you and well done!
It was a fantastic family day out, great organisation, great performances... Well done to all involved.
Was a great day, loved every second. Big thank you to all for organising and making the day so memorable.
