I am thrilled to be opening a brand-new Pauline Quirke Academy in Wakefield and provide endless opportunities for children. I have always been passionate about performing arts and I love, even more so, to witness children embrace and fulfil their personal goals and dreams.
My love for the arts began at a very early age when I began dance classes, this progressed further as I started competing at festivals and performing in local shows. At the age of 11, I realised I not only had a passion for dance, but I was also interested in acting and singing and I was lucky enough to participate in theatre productions in my home town and surrounding areas.
From this, I took my hobbies further when I left school and studied performing arts. I was also fortunate to be given the opportunity to choreograph on a regular basis for my dance school and local theatre groups; this was very rewarding seeing the success of my work, not only on stage but watching the children and young adults I taught grow in confidence and shine.
My Passion for the Arts continued as I went on to teach full time at a secondary school as a drama/dance teacher and now teaching English. My teaching background will ensure students of PQA Wakefield receive engaging and structured lessons, while having fun and making new friends. I feel children, more than ever, need opportunities to explore, be creative and to feel confident to be themselves and here at PQA, we allow children to learn in a safe and friendly environment with the highest-calibre of teaching staff in their genres.
If you love acting, singing, dancing or even learning how it all works in front or behind the camera, then you will love PQA Wakefield!
Musical Theatre Teacher
Hi, my name is Paige and I am very excited to be part of PQA Wakefield as the Musical Theatre teacher. Performing has been part of my life from such a young age with me starting dancing at the age of 4 and I have never looked back ever since. I trained in a number of dance styles locally at the Marilyn Baker School of Dance in Doncaster and took part in many school productions before leaving Doncaster in 2012 to do the BA (Hons) Course in Musical Theatre at one of the top drama schools in the country, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. There I was able to learn many new skills, as well as develop ones I already learnt.
I have a real passion for performing and passing on my knowledge to the younger generation. I love that performing allows you to be creative, something you necessarily can't be in everyday life. I love to see the excitement and happiness performing brings to other people, and the enjoyment and learning is something that is going to be very important throughout Musical Theatre classes.
While in training, I took part in a number of shows, both musicals, and plays. Some of these roles included 'Diana' in 'A Chorus Line,' 'Jessica Cranshaw' in 'Curtains' and 'Gladys Bumps' in 'Pal Joey.' Since graduating, I have appeared in Theatre Clyde's rendition of 'Little Shop of Horrors' playing 'Chiffon,' and most recently I have just finished the Number 1 UK Tour of 'Beautiful: The Carole King Musical' where I was playing 'Lucille' and of course one of the 'Shirelles.'
As I am currently working and auditioning in the industry, I feel I can give a real insight into the life of Musical Theatre and prepare students for whatever future they may wish to have. I am very honoured and excited to be teaching Musical Theatre and help guide our future stars.

Film & TV teacher
I'm a creative, hardworking and passionate individual with an inquisitive mindset forever driving me to learn and take inspiration from my surroundings. I was always fascinated by film and how it worked as a young kid, I used to watch old Sci-Fi Films with my dad and always be asking how did they do that? Where was that filmed? How did they blow up that robot and so on. That inquisitive mindset led me to study film and Media at GCSE, then A-level and then finally at university where I graduated with a First-class Honours in Film and Media Production, with my final film receiving a number of accolades from university and film festivals across the country.
While at university, I always pushed myself to be the best possible version of myself, since leaving that hasn't changed. I'm a very positive person who always has a can-do attitude towards film and more importantly towards life, this can-do attitude has enabled me to work on some wonderful projects over the years and I even helped my sister set up her own fashion company. I have a passion for film that is hard to match by others. I believe that with that passion, I can inspire a generation by the films that I've created or by the way I teach. I'm not just passionate about film, I also love photography, music, art and even politics.
I honestly believe that everyone needs a creative outlet; this can be film, media, music, and art, which are so important today.

Hello, my name is Morgan - for as long as I can remember, I have had a keen interest in art, which naturally for me progressed into an interest of the creative aspects of theatre and any form of performance.
Studying a degree in Theatre, Performance and Event Design, I developed all my skills immensely in regard to the performance industry. I have gone on to work within several positions including, backstage in theatres, creating and making props, set styling and assisting to lead a drama group for vulnerable adults.
With all my background and experience, I have a well-rounded knowledge of the Performing Arts industry and I am very happy to be part of the team at PQA and sharing my passion with the students here at Wakefield.
My name is Eleanor and I have been in the Performing Arts industry since I was a child, majority of which is Musical Theatre training. Performing has always been the light of my life and I still strife to do it to the best of my abilities now.
I have studied the industry right through to degree level, where I have just recently graduated from Newcastle College where I am skilled in both Musical Theatre and Acting and have been involved in numerous of youth groups since a young age. I have performed in both Plays and Musicals, with a range of different castings.
I have worked as a Drama teacher for about a year now, as well as working closely with children with Special Educational Needs and I have found a real passion for what performing arts provides children with; confidence and team building skills. I am delighted to now be able to transfer my skills at PQA Wakefield as a teaching assistant and become part of a hard-working dedicated team.
Hi, my name is Darcie and I have been a part of the Performing Arts Industry since the age of 3, mainly within Musical Theatre as I have studied Dance, Singing and Acting. I have a great passion for both training and performing and hope to encourage this love and passion within my work at the Academy.
I have studied in the industry all through school and my most recent place of study was CAPA College in Wakefield, where I have just completed my A Levels, achieving top grades that I am very proud of. I have performed in many musicals and plays both on an amateur and professional level, so I understand and appreciate the art form and its difficulty very much.
I have worked as a Singing, Dance and Musical Theatre teacher for the last 4 years which has come with working alongside children of all ages and abilities. Working with children has allowed me to understand just how beneficial Performing Arts is in a child's life. Not only does it provide them with versatile training and fun, it also works to encourage more confidence in children and see a growth in their personalities. I am very excited to able to put my skills to work at PQA Wakefield and work with a wonderful and talented team of people.
