Note from our Principal:

Welcome to Stroud PQA where we pride ourselves on being slightly different..... as a mum of three, I understand that parents want different things for our children some simply want to see their child grow in confidence whereas others see PQA as a first step towards a career in the performing arts.

At PQA Stroud, we aim to tailor classes to the needs of individual students and as a consequence, we see a natural growth in confidence through building good working relationships with other students as well as with industry professionals. We don't audition at PQA, we nurture and develop skills. However, we do also offer opportunities to be seen in the local arts scene - there are the usual showcase performances at The Cotswold Playhouse; film premieres at The Cineworld in Gloucester; and we also try and get involved in other local performance events.

We are very lucky to be based in Stroud and it is considered to be a very arts orientated place. PQA Stroud has been open since 2012 and we're excited to be spreading our wings and taking part in all Gloucestershire has to offer. Exciting times lie ahead!

We would love to show you what we do here at PQA Stroud! If you're interested in a FREE Taster Session, please email or call us for a chat, and we'll arrange for you to visit the Academy. Alternatively, you can register your interest online.

Jaye

Musical Theatre (Saturday AM & PM)

Jaye - Musical Theatre (Saturday AM & PM)

I began dancing, at Itchy Feet Dance group as soon as I could walk, competing at county, regional and national level by the age of thirteen. I was teaching and choreographing for the group by age eleven. I was also a keen member of Stonehouse Youth Theatre Company, from the age of ten performing at the Stroud Fringe Festival as well as in other theatre shows.

Locally I have created work for Gloucestershire County Council and Gloucestershire Dance and was also the resident choreographer for Tigz Productions, choreographing their runs of High School Musical 1 & 2, as well as their production for the Royal International Air Tattoo in 2009.

I moved to London in 2009 to pursue further training in dance and performance. I gained a degree in dance from University of East London and trained even harder in the hours outside university. I gained a place in the prestigious Laurence Olivier award-winning company, Boy Blue Entertainment with whom I performed at London's best venues including the Barbican, Indigo O2, and the London Olympia to name a few.

I was cast in a short film for Channel 4's Street Summer in 2010. I have performed on Alan Carr's Chatty Man, BBC's The One Show and had a coveted contract as a professional performer in the Olympic Opening Ceremony in 2012. I was also flown to Germany where I worked as a vocalist on Scooter's album "Music for a big night out." I was the featured vocalist on the debut song, which charted at number five in Russia. Scooter have sold over 30 million records worldwide.

I was cast as an original member of the cast of the West End production "I Can't Sing-the X Factor musical" written by Harry Hill, produced by SyCo, and Stage Entertainment, at The London Palladium. With this cast, I performed at the National Television Awards at London's O2 arena and The Royal Variety's 100th annual show at The London Palladium.

Bethany

Bethany - Teaching Assistant (Saturday AM & PM)

I began dancing at the age of six, starting off in 'Majorettes', and soon developed a love of Street and other types of dance. My love for musical theatre also started when I was a little girl and since a young age I have known that I want to perform.

I hold a level 4 Diploma in Performing Arts and have had a wide range of teaching experience in both Dance and Martial Arts. I have been professionally trained in all three sections of performing arts; dancing, singing and acting and I have performed to a high standard on the amateur stage.

I have also performed with the Gloucestershire Dance Company 'GDance' in a professional performance called 'Lost and Found', which gave me the opportunity to work with a wide and inclusive range of dancers. Other professional work includes working at Pontins as a dancer, entertainer and host.

I have also choreographed many dance routines for competitions as well as assistant choreographer roles for 'Annie' (Q-Productions) and 'Rent' (D.O.D.s) in which I am also performing in the ensemble.
