My daughter loves coming to PQA Stockport! She is always excited and talks about the lovely staff and how they make her feel happy and excited to be there! Every Saturday she walks in and the smile on her face when everyone says hello to her just says it all. In just 10 weeks her confidence has gone from 0 to through the roof - it has even helped her at school! I can't say enough how PQA has helped my daughter and given her the confidence boost that she needed. A huge thank you to all of you lovely staff - you are just brilliant!

Hi, my name is Kellie Taylor and I am delighted to be the Principal of The Pauline Quirke Academy Stockport.
I have been involved in the arts from a very young age and when I finished school I continued my studies in the performing arts. For 5 years, I attended The University of Winchester where I achieved a BA Hons in Performing Arts and an MA in Creative and Critical Writing. During my years at University I discovered my passion and desire to work with children. In 2005 I spent my summer in Africa implementing an Educational Drama Initiative in a local school. My time spent working with this school and its students was some of the most rewarding months of my life. I returned home to finish my studies knowing that I wanted to make working with children my future.
As a child, I performed in a production of The Sound of Music, and then 13 years later I found myself involved in the same show, only this time my role was as Assistant Director. Other shows I have performed in include: Iolanthe, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Frankenstein, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Stepping Out (performer and assistant director for this production), When the Lights Go on Again, Annie and much more.
In the past years, I have progressed from assistant director to director and my credits include; Summer and Christmas concerts, High Society, Annie, Oliver, Whistle Down the Wind. I have also written and directed my own award winning musical; A Fist Full of Love. As well as being the Principal of PQA Stockport I am also the Principal of PQA Harrogate and our students have recently performed PQA's musical The Lazy Ace at Her Majesty's Theatre, West End, London.
What I admire most about being in the Performing Arts is the confidence it can inspire in a person; I have seen children go from being incredibly shy to holding a leading role on a West End stage. Confidence is something I wish to help the students of PQA achieve and not just for the stage but for them to go out and be a part of this world with their head held high. My time at University taught me not only the skills to perform but also how to create my own theatre, which opens so many more doors to a person who loves the Arts. This is something I wish to inspire in the students of PQA, children have amazing and vast imaginations and PQA, through their unique and tailored modules, offer them the chance to explore this while making new friends and having a lot of fun along the way, an experience that will last your children a lifetime.
Purvi has been involved in Musical Theatre for almost her entire life, and received her BFA with honours in Musical Theatre from Pace University in New York City. Whilst in New York Purvi had the opportunity to work with award winning actors, writers and directors which has given her an incredible and varied insight to the whole world of theatre, and enabled her to continue to develop as an artist. She was also lucky enough to perform in numerous off-Broadway shows and has been involved in the process of developing new works, some of which are now in workshops for full Broadway productions.
Purvi is a massive lover of all the performing arts, having started off in pantos and amateur dramatics from the age of 6, to working as a professional actor now, and loves sharing her passion and knowledge with others. She is extremely excited to be teaching at PQA and to help inspire and develop the next generation of actors!
James studied Musical Theatre at Pendleton College, Salford before going on to graduate from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with a degree in Acting. During his training he regularly took on the role of Musical Director for Acting productions as well as directing his class in a Musical Theatre showcase. He has most recently been doing work with CBBC and TUC and is soon to be playing the role of Brian Epstein in a new Liverpool focused play. James is excited to be working with PQA and sharing his passion for Musical Theatre with its students.
Comedy & Drama
I have been in and around film, theatre and television for most of my life. I started my training aged 7 at Oldham Theatre Workshop and Marianne Jepson School of Dance, where as well as gaining my numerous I.S.T.D. Qualifications I also began my teacher training. I attended Braeside Drama School aged 13 where I gained numerous L.A.M.D.A. qualifications. My training then continued at North Cheshire Theatre School.
I have performed in many of the theatres in the northwest of England and also further afield in many and varied professional theatre productions.
As well as theatre, I have appeared in various television programmes, working for the BBC and ITV and also film.
I have been teaching both Drama and Dance in the UK, America and in Spain for over 20 years and was the founder and director of Nerja Theatre Workshop in Spain where as well as teaching; I was producing, directing and choreographing many stage productions. I also ran sister company, R.T. Castings, a casting agency for television, theatre and film where I was working with production companies and supplying actors and supporting artists for diverse roles.
I am very excited to be given the opportunity to work with everyone at PQA and I hope to create some great work and more fantastic memories and experiences for us all to keep with us for many years to come.

Niall is a recent graduate from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama where he achieved a first class BA Honours in Drama, Applied Theatre and Education. Alongside film, Niall also has a skilled background in drama having previously designed and produced multiple shows ranging from a production at the SOHO theatre in collaboration with Mencap and a multisensory, immersive production for children.
Niall is continuing his studies to be a secondary drama teacher whereby he can continue to transfer his inclusive practice and skill set in both film and theatre to inspire young people to develop a passion for the arts.
