PQA Romford is a dedicated performing arts school, teaching a wide range of Performing Arts skills and influencing confidence. Each week students take part in our classes of Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre and Film & Television, led by our fantastic team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants.

Our Romford academy operates from Ormiston Park Academy every Saturday from 9.45am-1pm & 1.45-5pm where we welcome students from 4-18 years within the Aveley, Upminster, South Ockendon, Romford, Rainham, Dagenham, Chadwell Heath, Purfleet and Thurrock areas.

We are always working on exciting projects which feature our students performing in a variety of different roles, in musicals, plays and films.

We are passionate about every student's personal journey with us, and the whole team work hard to ensure every single student is given the opportunity to become the best performer they can be and reach their potential creatively. Every student has something unique to offer, and it's our job to encourage this and develop it!

Comedy & Drama Classes

Our comedy and drama lessons provide our students with the knowledge of theatrical forms and techniques including: Improvisation and devised theatre to mime, mask, script work and vocal techniques in projection and diction.

Musical Theatre Classes

Musical Theatre classes combine singing, dance and acting. We teach our students a range of vocal and dance techniques giving them the ability to pass from dialogue to song and dance seamlessly within a performance.

Film & Television Classes

PQA is the largest provider of Film and Television education in the UK for under 18s. Our students will discover and develop talents in areas such as script writing, directing and acting for camera.

Meet the Team



Natasha - Principal

Natasha starting performing and training at the age of 2 years old when she started to study ISTD Ballet, Tap, Modern and RAD Ballet. She later went on to study acting under LAMDA and was fully trained in classical, opera singing and musical theatre.

At the age of 12, Natasha attended Italia Conti until she left for college at the age of 16 years.  She completed her training at Tiffany Theatre College gaining a triple distinction BTEC in Musical Theatre.

Natasha has taken part in many feature films and has been involved in touring shows such as Annie and Chicago. Her true passion, however, lies in teachig the next generation of performers.

Natasha has been with PQA Romford since the Academy opened in 2012, starting as the Poppets teacher and later Musical Theatre. She took over as Principal in 2017.



Vice Principal / Comedy & Drama

Nancy - Vice Principal / Comedy & Drama

Nancy has a BA Hons in acting from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

Her theatre credits include: Beth, Playground (Theatre 503) Actor, N4 Stories (Park Theatre) Mary Kelly, Jack The Ripper's London (Bermondsey Tunnels) and Immersive Actor, The Tick Tack Club and Maman Le Mot (London Bridge Tunnels.) Nancy also regularly works in the corporate world as an actor for companies such as the London Ambulance Service.

Her film and TV credits include: Becky, War of the sexes (Death by Awesome) Fortune Teller, Walk the Line (Talkback Thames) Actor, Get Summer Started (Sainsbury's).

Nancy has worked as a tutor and workshop leader for a number of years now, not only at PQA but also in schools, both mainstream and SEN.

Nancy loves working at PQA every week and seeing the development of all our amazing students!


Film & Television

Lee - Film & Television

While studying at Ravensbourne University, Lee gained a wide knowledge of film production by working on over three-dozen projects in various roles, including 'Babylon' (Channel 4), 'Don't Hang Up' (LA Film Festival) and 'Two Dosas' (Winner of Best Comedy).

Lee now writes and directs short films for international film festivals and competitions, while running his own monthly short film festival in London.


Musical Theatre

Jo - Musical Theatre

Having started at PQA at the age of 12 Jo knew her passion for performing arts started at a young age. She studied musical theatre at Havering College achieving triple distinction, from then she has been an entertainer and entertainment manager for holiday parks with Hoseasons, Park holidays and aven. Jo has performed in two touring pantomimes and many musicals as leading lady. Jo loves being a teacher at PQA and sharing the passion of musical theatre with younger stars to come!



Karyn - Poppets

Karyn began dancing from the age of five at the Central School of Dance and Drama based in Essex until the age of 18. She studied Tap, Jazz, ISTD Ballet, Modern and RAD ballet where she qualified with the advanced 2 level in all her exams.

At the age of 18 in 2008, Karyn attended the London Studio Centre University based in London for 3 years. She studied Musical Theatre, various styles of dance, singing and acting and graduated in 2011 with a BA (Hons) degree in Jazz dance. After graduating, she took part in a TV show called 'Dance Studios' on the TV channel PopGirl (Sky TV), where she was joined by two other dancers to teach and perform
a mixture of simple dance routines from different music videos to a younger audience.

She performed in different music videos for upcoming artists to help her grow and learn in the performing industry and has enjoyed many exciting opportunities along the way. With a true passion for teaching and performing, Karyn is determined to share her knowledge and experience to young and developing performers.

She is thrilled to be a part of our PQA team here at Romford, and is keen to pass on her level of experience to the best of her ability.
