Welcome from PQA Rochester!

We pride ourselves on being a centre of excellence that is inclusive of all abilities. We provide our students with outstanding performing arts tuition along with unique experiences whilst they build confidence and grow as performers is at the core of everything we do.
Since opening in 2009 students have performed in shows such as:
• Her Majesty's Theatre, West End
• The Shaftsbury Theatre, West End
• The Central and Brook Theatre
• RADA Studios, London
• Thorndike Arts Centre
• The Assembly Halls, Tunbridge Wells
• Red Carpet Cinema Screenings at Bluewater, Maidstone and Leicester Square
• LA and Hollywood film studios trip.
We are really proud of our 100% pass rate with most students receiving Distinctions in Trinity Guildhall Group Examinations. Several of our students optionally take extra solo exams gaining UCAS points.
We are also very pleased to have helped launch careers with many of our students gaining roles in West End shows such as Matilda, soaps such as Eastenders plus feature films, commercials and other TV and radio work.
Most of all we are equally proud of students who have come along to build confidence and make friends. We enjoy witnessing how self-esteem helps in all areas of their lives. You can often hear our students talking about their PQA family and making life long likeminded friends.
Mrs S – "Support, encouragement, and dedication in a fun professional atmosphere!"
We look forward to meeting you very soon.
"George has had a wonderful experience at PQA and has also made some lifelong friends while there too!"

"My son has absolutely loved his Saturday afternoons and all the experiences PQA has given him. So much so that he has been inspired to take acting as his chosen profession! Thank you Verity and the PQA team for everything you have offered in helping him determine his future."
Red group Parent, PQA Rochester
I am absolutely thrilled to be Principal PQA Rochester.
I am extremely passionate about all subjects taught at PQA and feel that children learn many valuable skills and gain great knowledge through drama training. The confidence and understanding it gives a young person then feeds into other areas of their lives. I love watching my students, who after just a little while of being part of the PQA family gain tremendous confidence, meet new friends, develop their imagination, concentration, observation and articulation skills.
My experience in the showbiz world spans a broad range of performance areas. After gaining a place only age 14 at The BRIT performing arts school where I studied Drama and Musical Theatre for 4 years. I have popped up in film, television shows, musical theatre productions and advertisement features regularly across my twelve years in performance.
Recent roles include The Bill(ITV), Dream Team(sky 1), comedy sketch show Little Miss Jocelyn(channel 4), Midsummer Murders(itv), Phil Zimmerman's creepy number 5 sketches and various advertisements and musical video features as well as roles in movies such as SPICEWORLD and I REALLY HATE MY JOB, working next to Hollywood's Neve Campbell. I am also a familiar face in the modeling world too. My strong vocals have earned me leading roles in touring musical theatre productions, MAMMA MIA! , CHARTBUSTERS and THE PASSIONATE TOUR of India and pantomime appearances as TIGER LILLY in PETER PAN, The Rotherham Civic and JACK in JACK AND THE BEANSTALK at the Middlesborough Theatre with some of the country's best loved comedy actors, whilst maintaining and strengthening my solo and group acts including girl band 'The Superdolls' that have toured famous venues nationwide.
I am also part of a prestige collective group mentored by famous television director Michael Ferguson whose credits include, Eastenders, The Bill, casualty and Doctor Who (to name a few). We workshop and meet every week at The Actors centre and workshop the most truthful ways of screen acting. I then bring all this information and experience to PQA every week!
I have been teaching alongside my performing work regularly throughout my career and have a great understanding of children and teenagers. I love passing on my professional experience in showbiz and most of all teach what I love best in life acting, singing and dancing!
I am also currently working with an independent record company on original songs due to be released!
I am also a very proud mum to Lucinda born Jan 2010.
Film & Television
Hi, I'm Danny and I'm a filmmaker!
I write, direct, produce and edit most of my projects. I have been making videos for over 10 years. I started off in a film club not far off what PQA does. It was here I found my calling in storytelling and haven't looked back since.
I graduated with a 1st class degree in Film, Radio & TV from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2012 and I have been self-employed as a freelance Director/filmmaker ever since.
My team and I have made several films now and as well as winning a few awards along the way. We have also screened in London, Scotland, New Jersey & Los Angles. I went out to New York and LA last year to support our project Textual Relationship, which has done very well on the film festival circuit. We also screened at the BFI's young filmmakers festival & had a four page spread in Indie filmmaker magazine last year.
We are currently working on a feature length documentary and some feature length feature films scripts. I have just returned from working on my first feature film credit, as second AD on the film Black Site for a contact of mine and am now eager to start my own feature film project later this year.
I love the word awesome, I love being creative and love making / watching and talking films! My website is www.pixelformstudios.com if you want to see any of the work I have done. Always happy to advise on anything film related!

Comedy & Drama
Jared Nelson is a professional actor and director from America, with two Master's degrees. His first, an MA in Theatre from Villanova University, focused on script analysis, theatre history, and theory and criticism. His second, an MFA in Acting from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, focused on voice, movement, and performance practices for the stage.
Since graduating in 2017 he has been working steadily on theatre, film, commercial, and corporate projects, which has given him an insider's perspective of the entertainment industry in the UK. He is looking forward to helping students understand the industry, and to prepare them for whatever they want to achieve as performers.
When I was 12 joined PQA Rochester to enhance my knowledge of Performing Arts. During my time at PQA I learned so much and was given so many opportunities in different performances. When I finished my session I would then help out in the afternoon, this helped me develop my teaching. I absolutely loved PQA! One of the greatest opportunities I received at PQA was through their agency Quirky Kidz. I was cast as teen ensemble in the film London Road! I worked alongside Tom Hardy and Olivia Coleman. It was such an incredible experience as it was my first professional job.
For three years I trained full time, two years Acting and a year of Dance. I developed so much, and I am grateful for the opportunities they gave me I learnt so much about the craft!
I am currently teaching at PQA Rochester as Poppets Teacher and Assistant. I love working with the children and am thrilled to be a part of PQA Maidstone too!
Poppets Assistant/Academy Assistant
Having attended PQA for 5 years as a student it has made such difference it has made to my life and confidence, I am thrilled to back as Poppets Assistant and Academy Assistant because I know what PQA meant to me as a student.
PQA has given me some wonderful opportunities such as performing in the West End and taking exams which is going to help me get into the university I want and most of all - I have made some lifelong friends!
I also help out at another drama group for children with learning difficulties; have trained as a dancer for 10 years and love to inspire children and build confidence through the arts. I am currently studying for a degree in Special Effect Make Up for TV and Film.
I am a confident young performer that has had an interest in performance since a very young age. When I Joined PQA as a student it really focused and honed my ability in performance, especially in the drama aspect of performance. I have taken part in many a Trinity Exam and West End show during my time with PQA and also played the lead in our big production of Zombie Prom at The Central Theatre. Naturally, this lead to me taking performance in sixth form which allowed me to take an in-depth look into practitioners and the theory behind performance and its nature.
I love assisting all the PQA students at PQA Rochester and after being a student for several years know what a Saturday meant to me! I hope to pursue my love of the arts in becoming a lighting and sound design for stage. Knowing what I know in performance will help as lighting and sound crew to make the performance magical and truly burst from the stage!
