We operate two academies on a Saturday and hold classes in Film & Television, Musical Theatre and Comedy & Drama for students aged 4-18. Our team is comprised of industry professionals, with years of experience in their field.
We believe in creating and maintaining an environment which is fun and inspires our students to be able to achieve their full potential. We are passionate that performing arts has a multitude of benefits, both personally and professionally. For each student it will be a different journey; perhaps it is discovering they love being on stage, finding a singing voice, gaining confidence, learning how to create lighting and sound for film, developing life skills, learning how to direct, write scripts, acting for camera, dancing, joining our highly successful agency, 'Quirky Kidz', and embark on the training required for a professional career within the arts. Or maybe they just want to come and have some fun on a Saturday! The list is endless! We have already seen students film for Channel 4, ITV, Sky Atlantic and record national advertisement campaigns.
We are always looking to facilitate performance opportunities for the students. Last term we were very excited to have a Musical Theatre performance at The ACT Theatre in Kingston on December 2nd. This comes after our brilliant performance of 'The Lazy Ace' at 'The Shaftesbury' Theatre in The West End.
In January we walked the red carpet at Cineworld Feltham for a cinema screening of our work in Film and Television. In May, we are having a Musical Theatre Showcase and in June we are performing 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'Comedy of Errors' at Ham House and Garden whilst taking our Trinity exams!
We are so fortunate to operate from the brand new, sparkling performing arts building at Christ's School. With a state-of-the-art dance studio, drama studio and Film & TV space - the main challenge is getting the students to actually leave on time!
Due to demand, limited spaces are available. If you are interested in a place at PQA Richmond, please contact me to arrange a taster session. We would love to hear from you. Alternatively, you can request a brochure or enrol online now – we look forward to welcoming you to PQA Richmond!
Oliver Mason - Principal
"There is no part of me that regrets starting PQA. Having the chance to work with and be mentored by a team of industry professionals has given my career a head start - I couldn't believe it at first! I was even more astounded how approachable everyone was on my first day. I would say, hands down, PQA is worth it whether you want a career in the arts or even if you just want to develop your confidence. It sounds cheesy, but PQA was the biggest step towards the 'me' I am today and I wouldn't change it for the world!" - Jay, Red Group.
"PQA is like a second family to me, it is the highlight of my week. I learn lots of new skills and have fun whilst doing it. Our Principal, Oliver, is kind, caring, very knowledgeable and talented. He wants you to work hard so you can produce epic results (which we always do)!" - Lewie, Red Group.
"Our daughter joined PQA Richmond September 2017 on the recommendation from a friend, and we're so glad she did! It's really boosted her self-esteem, built her confidence, taught her skills she can use for the rest of her life, and they allow her to be completely her wonderful self. They avoid the trap of training "stagey" kids, because their focus is very much on being helpful, kind, caring towards their entire group, and they allow every single child to shine, and reward hard work and courage, no matter what your starting point or previous experience. All the teachers are working professional actors and performers, and they teach with great skill and discipline, but with lots of energy and a great sense of fun, helping the children develop their skills and sense of self. As a professional working actor myself, I can say that I'm so grateful to my friend for recommending this for our daughter, and I only wish I'd had PQA when I was young. It's a truly magical place!" -Blue Group parent
