I was born and raised in Nottingham and began taking dance lessons at three years old and this is where my love of performing arts began. I took many styles of dance including ballet, tap, modern and contemporary and took part in many competitions and shows throughout my childhood.
At eighteen, I went on to train at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts in Surrey where I gained a level 6 Diploma in Musical Theatre and the DDI teaching qualification in ISTD Modern. At Laine, I received top quality training which I pride myself on passing onto my students.
Upon Leaving college I worked for Warner Leisure Hotels as a lead singer and dancer as well as performing my own cabaret. I then worked for Indigo Live Productions as a commercial dancer, travelling the country alongside my further teaching studies. I then went on to work for Planet ABBA as Agnetha in the country's top ABBA tribute band touring the world singing in our professional ABBA concert!
I then came to work for PQA as a cover teacher whenever I was needed, then decided it was time to move home and get a "real job!" I worked as PQA poppets teacher alongside various other teaching work for companies in dance schools and primary schools until taking the position of Vice Principal of PQA Nottingham then moving up to Principal!
I still perform from time to time with my cover band "The Mixers" and choreograph and perform in local theatre productions! I am so excited to be Principal of PQA Nottingham and look forward to working with you all to continue to make PQA Nottingham a successful and thriving academy, providing the best possible training for our students!

Film & Television
Michael followed his passion for film from a very young age, leaving his A-Levels to start working on music videos and short films from the age of 17, living and working in Newcastle, London, Plymouth and Oxford.
He moved to Nottingham to study at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies, from which he graduated with a First Class Honours in his foundation degree for TV & Film Production Technology before going on to Nottingham Trent University and receiving another First Class Honours for a BSc in Creative Media Technologies.
From there, he co-founded Them Pesky Kids, a production company which aims to champion the Nottingham art scene and create original and thought provoking films, music videos and online content. Them Pesky Kids recently raised £10,000 for Michael's upcoming film Ariella, which he will be co-directing with his brother Jack.
Michael is very excited to start teaching at PQA Nottingham, and can't wait to make sure the students have some well-made films to show their family and friends.
Paige has been performing from a very early age, she studied Popular Music and Drama at Manchester Metropolitan University graduating with a 2.1 and is now aspiring to become a professional vocal coach.
As well as teaching she has performed in a variety of plays and musicals such as Pirates of Penzance, Alice in Wonderland, The Wedding Singer and many more. Paige has also performed as a solo artist and in various venues around the country as a vocalist within a band.
Matt's lived in Nottinghamshire all his life and started attending speech and drama classes at the age of 8. His first appearance on stage was as Cagey Joe in Bugsy Malone The Musical. Since then he continued his work on stage with various theatre companies including the Ravenshead Theatre Group and other amateur and professional companies. In 2011 the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Dramatic Association awarded him Best Supporting Actor for his role as Denis Wicksteed in Alan Bennett's Habeas Corpus.
He holds a Level 3 diploma for Early Years Foundation Stage. He also has experience in both looking after and teaching all age ranges. For his weekday job he implements a lot of drama practices to boost children's confidence and social skills.
By combining his two passions of drama and teaching, he's gone from being a 'young pup' Poppets teacher to the Vice Principal of PQA Nottingham in 3 years, and learned lots of tricks along the way. His only disappointment is that the opportunity to attend a Pauline Quirke Academy was never around when he was a kid!
