After such an incredible first term at PQA Loughborough students will be introduced to new projects across all three modules.
In Comedy & Drama students will take part in a 4-week project called PQA Monologue SLAM! This exciting project will see students learn about different genres and styles of monologues, and learn how to deliver and perform a monologue with skill and technique! Parents will have the opportunity to watch some monologues at the end of the project. There is also an opportunity for a couple of students to be entered a PQA national monologue competition in London!
In Musical Theatre students will start a new Disney themed project where each group will explore different Disney numbers with objectives on technique and vocals. Students will continue to learn how to become an ensemble, to sing and dance together as a group. It's very important that students are learning lyrics at home.
In Film & TV students have until the end of March to complete all projects that they want to enter the PQA Film Festival to ensure there is enough time to edit films in post-production before submitting them. The films our students produce are of such a high standard, students love this module and we are very lucky to have the University as a location for filming as it gives students so many options!
We break up for Easter on Sunday 25th March for 2 weeks and return to Academy on Sunday 145th April.
To book a free taster session for your child please contact Rosie Howard 07710 519690 or email [email protected].
Rosie has a glittering past full of performing arts in both amateur and professional productions from the young age of 10. Rosie knew very early on that teaching Drama was the only career for her and so she went onto University in Leicester to realise her dream. Now with 10 years teaching experience, Rosie has trained hundreds of students in drama and acting at both PQA and Warwickshire Secondary schools.
Rosie now runs 4 PQA Academies across the weekend in 3 separate locations. She is passionate about the performing arts; what PQA is all about and ensuring all of our students get the most out of their training. Managing multiplying academies is her dream job and she ensures that the standard at each one is extremely high! As drama teaching is where it all started for her she jumps at the opportunity teach the Comedy & Drama module when cover is needed or give expert training leading up to shows etc.
Rosie thinks performing arts is not only beneficial for students who are working towards a career within this industry but points out its also beneficial for students who want to meet new friends and raise their confidence. PQA has a family feel and all students come weekly to learn but are having so much fun doing so!
I look forward to meeting you at the academy!
