We operate on Saturdays from 9.45am–1pm, where we welcome students aged 4 to 18. Each week students have sessions in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre and Film & Television, led by our fantastic team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
We are always working on exciting projects which feature our students performing in a variety of different roles, in musicals, plays and films.
We are passionate about every student's personal journey with us, and the whole team work hard to ensure every single student is given the opportunity to become the best performer they can be, and reach their potential creatively. Every student has something unique to offer, and it's our job to encourage this and develop it!
We would love to show you what we do here at PQA Glasgow. If you're interested in a free taster session, please call us for a chat and we'll arrange for you to visit the Academy. Alternatively, you can request a brochure or enrol online now – we look forward to welcoming you to PQA Glasgow!
Principal Yasmin Bryce
Yasmin has a degree in Psychology from the University of Glasgow and has always been interested in people and characters. After much time spent in her youth at performance classes and drama groups, as well as directing amateur productions, she went on to graduate from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with an MA in Musical Theatre (Merit).
Professional theatre credits include the title role of Cinderella in Cinderella (Motherwell Theatre), Jenny Hobbs in During the War (UK tour), Bianca/Grumio in The Taming of the Shrew (Shakespeare Open-air UK tour), Marilyn Monroe 2 in Norma Jeane the Musical (Workshops) and Hope in Hope (UK tour). Yasmin's professional acting work also includes a number of short films, commercials, radio dramas, voiceovers and presenting.
For the past two years, Yasmin has found her passion for teaching in leading workshops and projects in schools and nurseries and teaching music, play and drama classes to pre-schoolers. Yasmin hopes to give the PQA Glasgow students the same joyous experience as so many of her happiest memories back in youth theatre where she learnt so much and made friends for life!

Film & Television
Alia Ghafar is a filmmaker based in Glasgow. She graduated from the Film and TV programme at Edinburgh College of Art where she worked on numerous short film productions before specialising in writing and directing.
Her film 'Salt & Sauce' had its premiere at the 61st BFI London Film Festival, where it was also included in a selection of 'New British Shorts' which were presented to an audience of young people aged 16-25 at the British Film Institute.
'Salt & Sauce' is continuing to screen at prestigious festivals such as Underwire Film Festival, London Short Film Festival and Edinburgh Short Film Festival, where Alia won the Rising Star Award 2017.
In the past few years, Alia has gained experience leading workshops with young people in devising theatre, film script development and acting for camera. Her passion for performing in her own youth led to her love of filmmaking and she is excited to help inspire the wonderful students at PQA to do the same.
Comedy & Drama
Emma began acting and performing from a young age, performing in school productions, youth theatre shows and amateur Scottish operas. She then went on to study at The Space, Dundee College before gaining her Masters Degree in Acting from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Her love of working with the community and youth led her to teach theatre and drama and she is delighted to be back working in youth theatre. Her focus has always been on instilling confidence, creativity and expression for everyone regardless of experience or ability and knows first-hand how much can be gained from participating in an Academy like PQA.
Emma primarily focuses on teaching but also works as an actor for short films, music videos and corporate role-play companies. A keen writer, Emma has also written and produced her own work including a play that had a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She's hoping to bring this to her classes and allow all students the opportunity to devise their own scenes and monologues and maybe even a play! She's looking forward to meeting the students and getting started!
Hi everyone, my name is Alison and I am extremely excited to be a part of the PQA family as the Poppets teacher. We are going to have so much fun together!
I have loved performing from a young age and have appeared in various shows and pantomimes throughout Scotland. I have recently obtained a BA degree in Childhood Studies from the University of the West of Scotland and I am currently studying a PGDE course to obtain a primary teaching qualification.
Since the beginning of my degree, my knowledge of how children grow and develop has expanded, and this has given me greater insight into the different ways of developing a child's confidence and self-esteem.
During my degree, I worked in various nurseries running drama workshops for children aged 2-5. I am very passionate about using drama, dance and singing as a way to engage children and help expand their imaginations.
Prior to my degree, I was employed as a Drama Worker with PACE Youth Theatre where I delivered exciting drama workshops and directed many early years shows based on our favourite stories and characters!
I really look forward to meeting you all and can't wait for the adventures we'll be going on together!
Marnie Yule has been participating and performing in musical theatre from the age of ten and has always found theatre and performance to be one of the most rewarding and enriching things to do, especially as a young child.
She has been a part of many productions with Ad Lib Theatre Arts in her hometown of Perth (Hairspray, Fame and Les Miserables to name a few) both as a performer and a stagehand/assistant for the junior productions. Since moving to Glasgow to study Physics and Astronomy, she has performed in multiple productions with The Cecilian Society playing Meredith Parker in Bat Boy, Sylvia in All Shook Up, and was Musical Director for The Brain from Planet X and Footloose. She also played the part of Miss Gardener in Carrie with Mad Props Theatre and performed in the 70th Edinburgh Fringe with Room 29 Theatre as Jenny in It Shoulda Been You.
She is very excited to be the Poppets Assistant for PQA Glasgow, and to use her enthusiasm for theatre and film to share with the kids how fulfilling and fun it can be!
