Our Glasgow academy of performing arts runs on Saturdays from 9.45am–1pm and 1.30-4.45pm where we welcome students aged 4 to 18 to the fantastic facilities at Glasgow Clyde College – Langside.
Each week, students have sessions in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre and Film & Television, led by our fantastic team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants.

Comedy & Drama Classes
Our comedy and drama lessons provide our students with the knowledge of theatrical forms and techniques including: Improvisation and devised theatre to mime, mask, script work and vocal techniques in projection and diction.
Musical Theatre Classes
Musical Theatre classes combine singing, dance and acting. We teach our students a range of vocal and dance techniques giving them the ability to pass from dialogue to song and dance seamlessly within a performance.
Film & Television Classes
PQA is the largest provider of Film and Television education in the UK for under 18s. Our students will discover and develop talents in areas such as script writing, directing and acting for camera.

Yasmin has a degree in Psychology from the University of Glasgow and has always been interested in people and characters. After much time spent in her youth at performance classes and drama groups, as well as directing amateur productions, she went on to graduate from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with an MA in Musical Theatre (Merit).
Professional theatre credits include the title role of Cinderella in Cinderella (Motherwell Theatre), Jenny Hobbs in During the War (UK tour), Bianca/Grumio in The Taming of the Shrew (Shakespeare Open-air UK tour), Marilyn Monroe 2 in Norma Jeane the Musical (Workshops) and Hope in Hope (UK tour). Yasmin's professional acting work also includes a number of short films, commercials, radio dramas, voiceovers and presenting.
For the past two years, Yasmin has found her passion for teaching in leading workshops and projects in schools and nurseries and teaching music, play and drama classes to pre-schoolers. Yasmin hopes to give the PQA Glasgow students the same joyous experience as so many of her happiest memories back in youth theatre where she learnt so much and made friends for life!
Vice Principal / Comedy & Drama
Hazel graduated from Langside College in 2005 with an HND in Acting and Performance. Since then she has worked extensively for several TIE and other theatre companies touring the UK and abroad. She is also experienced in screen acting having performed in a number of short films.
As well as performing, Hazel is heavily involved with The Take Away Theatre Company in a directorial and scriptwriting capacity. She has also worked as a mentor for young actors for companies such as 'The Elma Whyte School of Dance' and 'Stagerite Expressive Arts'. Hazel has a passion for music and enjoys singing, drumming and playing the guitar. She is really looking forward to being involved with PQA Glasgow, mainly because she is a big kid at heart and loves working with the talent of the future.
Emilie has always loved to sing, dance, and perform, and got her first starring role as Frosty the Snowman in her nursery school show at five years old. Since then, she has performed in and helped produce some productions with a variety of companies across the world including Chicago; A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum and Little Shop of Horrors. Latterly, her interest has been focused on the education and production side of things, working as an assistant producer to the head of the drama department at the British International School of Kuala Lumpur, but she has never lost her love of being in the spotlight!
Emilie has always worked in early childhood education: as a camp leader, nursery play worker, and children's library coordinator. She knows it will be an absolute delight to be bringing this experience, as well as her fervour for performance, to the role of Poppets Teacher with PQA Glasgow!
Blue Group Assistant
Janet has enjoyed performing from a young age. She started going to local youth theatre groups at the age of twelve. With them, she performed in His Majesty's Theatre in 'Joseph and the Technicoloured Dreamcoat' and 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.' At school, Janet also completed her Gold LAMDA award and Grade 8 Musical Theatre singing award at distinction level.
Janet has also performed at University with the Cecilian Society and Epilogue Theatre, starring as Little Becky Two Shoes and Dani in 'Dani Girl.' Her experience does not lie solely in performing as she has also stage managed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Additionally, Janet has worked for a children's party and entertainment company. She loves that PQA provides a space for children to improve their confidence and creativity in the arts!
Currently, Janet is studying at the University of Glasgow, doing an undergraduate degree in Theatre and Film and Television. Janet is thrilled to be working with PQA and can't wait to share her knowledge and have fun with the students!
Green Group Assistant
Morna has a great passion for the arts and has been performing Musical Theatre since the age of 10! As a Maths and Music student at Glasgow University Morna has been an avid musician for 11 years, playing a variety of instruments including violin and trumpet.
From the age of 16, Morna has been involved in many different theatre groups including Pantheon, Glasgow Live Productions, The Cecilian Society and most recently Epilogue. She has taken on a range of roles including Performer, Tech Director and Props Director. Previous productions include Legally Blonde and Grease! Morna has also spent the past few years working on Production Teams and gaining skills she will need for a career in Theatre Production.
Over the past three years Morna has also worked as an Activity Leader and Counsellor at two different International Summer Schools. Her role was to help children and teenagers with their understanding of English as well as running various activities, workshops and events!
Morna is extremely excited to be starting a new theatrical journey at PQA where she can share her experiences and love of theatre and music with a younger generation!
Musical Theatre Teacher
Robyn has been performing and working in musical theatre from a very young age, training with Diverse Choreography and Performing Arts School in Dubai, where she grew up. She has been involved in many abbreviated productions with Diverse, playing Dorothy (The Wizard of Oz), Madame Thenardier (Les Miserables), Elphaba (Wicked) and Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors) in addition to various dance roles in professional flashmobs. Whilst in Dubai, Robyn also worked closely with children in various interactive performance roles, summer camps and school workshops with Imagination Education and Diverse.
Robyn is currently studying Law at the University of Glasgow, where she continues to produce and perform with the Cecilian Society – most recently as Miss Sandra (All Shook Up) and as a specialist dancer (Urinetown, Back to the 80s!, The Brain From Planet X, Footloose).
Robyn is hugely excited to work with PQA Glasgow, and to help them bring the incredible and rewarding experience of performance and production to their students!
Olivia has loved all things performing from the young age of 3 when she appeared at His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen as a young Princess in The King and I. Since then, she has been a part of many amateur and professional theatre companies in Aberdeen where she performed shows such as Phantom of the Opera, The Addams Family and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat.
Alongside performing in shows, Olivia is an avid musician who has attained her grade 8 in both piano and violin and gained her Musical Theatre Diploma in 2015.
Since moving to Glasgow to study English Literature and Music at the University of Glasgow, Olivia's love for performing didn't stop and she joined The Cecilian Society. As part of this company she has starred as Natalie in All Shook Up and Little Sally in Urinetown. This year she has taken on the role of Musical Director in their next production as well as Company Manager.
Olivia is delighted to be joining the PQA Glasgow team, she cannot wait to get started with the Poppets and share her experience, love and passion for all things performing arts!
Film and TV
Louise has a degree in Fine Art, obtained at Ayr College, where she studied photography and film editing. She also has a second degree in Interaction Design, obtained at the Glasgow School of Art, where she focused her attention to film making and filmic studies.
Her short films have been showcased in the Dick Institute, Kelvin Gallery and the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust. Louise has immersed herself in the industry by spending time in front of the camera as an extra in adverts, music videos, TV shows and films.
Louise has worked as a classroom assistant whilst running her own after school homework club, tutoring the pupils she worked with at the school. She has also received a Youth Achievement Award for running classes at her secondary that taught adolescents about the dangers of alcohol. She is enthusiastic about making sure the students feel pride in their work and explore their love for TV and Film in a creative and fun way.
Cover Teacher & Teaching Assistant
Katie has an undergraduate degree in Theatre Studies and Linguistics from University of Glasgow and a Masters in Theatre and Performance from Queen Mary University of London. Throughout her time at university, Katie was heavily involved with The Cecilian Society, performing in several of their shows. She served on the society's committee for three years, including as President in 2015/16.
She also took on the role as Assistant Director for Titanic: The Musical in 2015 and as Director for Urinetown in 2018. Katie also works a workshop leader for Raenbow Productions children's theatre school and directed a production of When They Go Low for Breakthrough Theatre as part of National Theatre Connections 2018.
Katie is now undertaking a PhD at University of Glasgow and loves when she gets a chance to spend a Saturday at PQA. She's super lucky that she gets to do a bit of everything and work with all of the fantastic PQA kids in different classes!
