Hello, I'm Mark the Principal of PQA in Dartford. I'm delighted to have opened another Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts! We are here on a Saturday to provide you with the most upbeat performing arts training across Dartford!
I have been with PQA for 5 years now, and the PQA journey grows from strength to strength all the time. I'm also the Principal of the very successful PQA in Romford, and former Principal of PQA Canterbury. Before running the Academies, I taught Musical Theatre, MD's Projects and edited films for our Film & TV Modules at other PQA locations too! Therefore, I strive to ensure that all of our students receive the full PQA experience throughout all of our modules - Musical Theatre, Comedy & Drama and Film & TV. We also have PQA Poppets running here for our fantastic little performers ages 4 to 6.
We have a dedicated and professional set of teachers and team members, all of which have been carefully considered for the Academy. Every staff member is a Performing Arts professional in their own right, working in the industry, and therefore giving our PQA students current and relevant skills to set them up for their performance journey.
We are lucky enough to hold our Academy at Longfield Academy, which boasts fantastic facilities. We have a specialist drama studio, a musical theatre auditorium, a bright and modern dance studio, a media suite for Film & TV along with spacious and open classrooms perfect for our Poppets!
My priority is ensuring that all groups have a great time on a Saturday morning and leave looking forward to the following weekend!
I am extremely passionate about PQA and I fully support Pauline's ethos, therefore I liaise with head office and other Academy Principals on a regular basis. We don't want to make a difference to just one Academy; we want the whole PQA family to grow!
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to PQA Dartford every Saturday! If you fancy giving PQA a go, then why not book your FREE taster session?
Any questions then please feel free to contact me on 07854 109368 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Mark Bowman – Principal PQA Dartford
As the Principal of PQA Romford and PQA Dartford, Mark has had ample experience in both teaching and professional performance. He says "All of my team are professionals in their own subject area. Outside of PQA, all of us make a living from performances and professional artistic work. I feel this is very important to our students, as we hold current knowledge of what it is like to be out there doing it and we can pass these skills on first hand".
As a professional vocalist himself, Mark has worked for PQA as a Musical Theatre teacher and was thrilled when he had the chance to open his own Academy.
Even before qualifying from his Commercial Music Degree in 2008, Mark had built up a reputable amount of experience in vocal training and music education. He has led many community arts projects for those with learning difficulties, mental health illness, young and ex-offenders, and he is regularly booked to deliver singing workshops in Primary Schools, Secondary Schools & FE Colleges.
He currently runs his own Artist Agency, choreographing & producing new entertainment shows throughout Europe, which he still performs in himself. This means that Mark often flies out to various countries during the week, and will be back to be at his academies for Saturday. "I love working in the industry and coming in to PQA to pass on what I experience to my students! I absolutely love the buzz of what PQA offers and look forward to every single Saturday as much as our kids do!"
Mark has worked as a Programme Manager for London's NXG Group (Bruno Mars, Professor Green, Trey Songz, Jocelyn Gee), Course Leader for Kent Adult Educations' Find Your Voice course and has worked overseas for one of the most successful theatre schools in Cyprus as a Vocal Coach.
Mark's credentials include working with 80?s super wave band Wang Chung, Chesney Hawkes, Simon Foster (Flying Picketts), and as a session vocalist for Ministry of Sound Producers. He has performed in popular vocal acapella groups, barbershop quartets, Steely Dan tributes, nu-wave & nu-romantic 80s tribute shows, musical theatre events, live lounge gigs, songwriters evenings and festivals.
He also works as a freelance Musical Director & session vocalist, and produces professional backing tracks for theatre companies, productions and popular tribute artists. Mark is extremely proud and excited to be a PQA Principal, and is looking forward to providing the highest quality experience and creating inspiring opportunities for his students.
