"Mali has been with PQA for 3 years now and her confidence has soared! The teaching has been outstanding and Mali has enjoyed learning lots of aspects of theatre, drama and behind the scenes!"
"She's been involved in so many activities, too many to list, but her favourites are watching her film in a cinema, performing in Disneyland Paris and in the West End! She said that PQA has made all her dreams come true!"
"What a fantastic year at PQA Bath. Chloe has had an amazing time it has done wonders for her confidence and self-esteem. A fantastic friendly amazing team at PQA Bath. You all work so hard and give 100% and make everyone feel so welcome. Chloe has performed at the Bristol Hippodrome, Her Majesty's Theatre, Bath Carnival and was lucky enough to experience the thrill of performing on stage at Disneyland Paris. Thank you for all you have done for Chloe and many others. You are all fantastic!"
"One of the things we love about PQA Bath is the equality showed amongst the students. Everyone gets a chance to do the lead parts. In Bath at other places the same people get the lead roles continually and that is disheartening all round. Our daughter loves PQA and all the opportunities it has brought her. The principal and teachers are wonderful, kind, caring and talented."
Hi my name is Lucy and I am delighted to be the principal of PQA Bath!
I have lived in Somerset my whole life, I studied Drama and Education at Bath Spa University and have stayed in the Bath area ever since.
I have had a huge passion for performing arts my whole life. I remember my very first visit to the Theatre Royal in Bath when I was 6; from then on I was hooked!
As well as having such enthusiasm for performing arts, I also have a great connection with children and young people. Through PQA Bath I am determined to deliver the highest standard of teaching but also I want each and every one of my students to have fun. I really look forward to Saturday mornings every week and I hope my students will too!
I originally started working for PQA in October 2012, first as a Comedy and Drama Teacher and more recently as a Musical Theatre Teacher. I enjoyed the challenge of choreographing both a West End show and more recently co-directing 'Thoroughly Marvellous Musicals' at the Bristol Hippodrome. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at PQA so far and I have finally completed my ambition of opening my own school in my most favourite city. I think the opportunities that PQA offer students are incredible and you will not find these types of experiences anywhere else.
I have various experiences in performing, teaching, dance, comedy, directing and producing which I have gained through University, work, training and being part of several societies.
I started my dance training at 'The Star Cast School of Dance and Performing Arts', where I studied various disciplines such as modern/stage, disco, street dance, ballet and tap. Whilst training there I took part in numerous performances and completed my UKA dance and performance exams. Whilst studying at Star Cast I started my teaching career over 8 years ago.
I left Star Cast in 2009 to study Drama and Education at Bath Spa University. Throughout my studies I performed in various productions including a 24 hour production of 'Grease' the musical, which I also co-directed. My biggest achievement at university was directing my own full scale production of Sophie Treadwell's 'Machinal'. I graduated in 2012 with a 2.1 BA Hons Degree in Drama Studies.
I continued teaching throughout university and after. I have worked with various local primary schools, creating dance festivals. I also worked as a drama/musical theatre teacher for the Mark Jermin Theatre School in Bath. I have been working with and teaching children for the last 8 years in various roles such as a teaching assistant, drama teacher and musical theatre teacher.
My biggest claim to fame was being given the opportunity to perform in the Wookey Hole circus as The Witch of Wookey Hole!
I have a huge passion for both education and the theatre. My ambition is to inspire, motivate, educate and build confidence in as many young minds as possible.
Having previously gained a BA (Hons) Musical Theatre degree at Colchester Institute, Joel trained at the Guildford School of Acting, graduating from the MA Acting course in 2013. Other credits include Aladdin in Aladdin: A Family Pantomime (Pyramid Productions) and Luca in The Land in My Blood (The Little Black Box Theatre, Bristol). He also performed in association with the Kingston Youth Arts Festival, playing Lieutenant Farzan in Arabian Nights (The Rose Theatre, Kingston).
Joel has also works for Zenith Youth Theatre Company, an entirely voluntary run theatrical society which has been producing award-winning Musical Theatre for over 50 years. Having recently Assistant Directed The Phantom of the Opera, Joel will be returning to the company in 2016 to direct their summer production.
Joel took on the role of Musical Theatre teacher for PQA Bath when the school first opened in 2014. Having recently returned in the capacity of a cover teacher, Joel is delighted to be back as the Vice-Principal and Comedy & Drama teacher.
Film & Television
Adam has worked in a variety of different film and television projects, from feature films, television, music videos and corporate videos to camera operating, editing and directing, Adam has a wide range of expertise in film and its different aspects.
In his spare time, Adam also enjoys producing, directing and editing his own film projects with various friends and industry colleagues.
In recent years, he has been doing more teaching and has really enjoyed this. He hopes he will be able to bring something new and exciting to PQA.
Emily graduated from Creative Academy (University of West London) with a 2:1 BA(hons) in Dance in 2016 and is thrilled to have been given the job as Musical Theatre teacher at PQA Bath.
She has danced from the age of three and was a member of two Musical Theatre clubs whilst she was growing up. Within these clubs she was given many amazing opportunities such as performing in Disneyland Paris, taking on several lead roles including Rumpleteaser in Cats and performing in Billy Elliott in the West End, as well as being fortunate enough to perform in a variety of different shows along with learning lots of different skills. Emily can't wait for this next chapter of her journey and is looking forward to working with all the staff and students at PQA Bath.
Comedy & Drama
I'm extremely excited to be a part of the Bath PQA team. Upon graduating from Bath Spa University in 2016 I formed my own theatre company; The James Company. I directed Kevin Jones' Shed Man at the Lion and Unicorn for the Camden Fringe Festival. Shortly after I appeared in a five week national tour of a TIE production supporting anti-bullying week.
Alongside teaching at PQA I'll continue to work as a director and actor. I'm appearing as Robbey Macabee in The Perfect Woman for Bath Fringe and will be directing Macbeth this autumn.

Katherine is currently a second year Drama and Music student at Bath Spa University. She has had a passion for musical theatre and the arts since the age of twelve when she took part in her first show, 'The Wizard of Oz'.
Originally from South Wales, Katherine began Ballroom and Latin dance lessons at the age of seven with Dance World. She then began singing lessons at the age of fourteen, training classically and being examined by ABRSM. At the age of seventeen, Katherine discovered LCM Musical Theatre exams and over an 18 month period, completed her grades 6, 7 and 8. Between the ages of fourteen and eighteen, while still at high school, Katherine performed in many concerts and shows, including singing in the Royal Albert Hall. She has also performed in many musicals such as Jekyll and Hyde, The Little Shop of Horrors and Miss Saigon to name a few.
In addition to being a trained vocalist, Katherine also plays flute, saxophone and piano. These led her to be in Torfaen Music Centre Senior Wind Band and performing in competitions such as Music for Youth's National Festival in Birmingham.
Teaching Assistant / PA Intern
Since she could walk Ellie has been a part of the theatre, partaking in afterschool clubs and school musicals all the way through to sixth form, playing lead roles in The Little Shop of Horrors, Shakers and Grease. Also a member of Somerset Opera, she has been involved with performances of Die Fledermaus and Macbeth, and has had dance training through Nicky Jenks school of Dance. She was also a Rainbows Young Leader.
Now interested in applied drama and what, in particular, drama therapy can do for people with anxiety issues and other disorders, Ellie is currently a third year Drama and Psychology Student at Bath Spa University, and hopes to train to become a drama and/or play therapist for children. Using her experience as an Intern to the Principle as well as an Assistant Teacher at PQA Bath, she is focused on how academies like PQA can improve confidence and wellbeing in children and teenagers.
Hazel started at PQA as a pupil in 2015. While a pupil at PQA she took part in various shows and films, including Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Musicals at the Bristol Hippodrome and Lazy Ace on the West End! She enjoyed it so much that she has returned to PQA as a Teaching Assistant to encourage and share her passion for the arts.
This past year she has built on her knowledge by attending Bath Academy of Musical Theatre where she gained her Grade 8 Musical Theatre.
She is currently working towards her final year of A-Levels at school, including drama and has plans to apply to drama school to study musical theatre at a higher level.
Hazel is excited to be assisting with all the fabulous projects at PQA this year.
