Terms of Membership

INTRODUCTION

These terms & conditions apply to services provided by PQA Business Partners from hereon known as “Academy Principals”. The contract for services to students is held with each Academy Principal consented to by the student’s parent or legal guardian.

Acceptance and termination of attendance is solely at the discretion of the Academy Principal. Written acceptance of an application establishes a contract between the Academy Principal and the student/student’s parent or legal guardian.

When you book or purchase any product or service, you are signifying your agreement to these terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with them before you book or purchase any product or service from us.

SESSIONS

Classes are available to students for 3 hours a week (1.5 hours a week for Poppet classes), 44 weeks of each calendar year (40 weeks in Mallorca & Northern Ireland). Details of when breaks occur are available from the specific Academy Principal or on the PQA website. Times of classes are specified on the student’s acceptance letter. The Academy Principal reserves the right to change times, dates and the location of classes. If a class is postponed for any reason outside of the control of the Academy Principal an additional class will be scheduled.

Should any student be absent from a session for what ever reason, the fee is non refundable as we do not operate a ‘drop in/drop out’ operation and cannot find replacements to simply fill missed classes. You are advised to notify the Academy Principal or PQA head office of any authorised absenteeism, any unauthorised absentees will enter in to our escalation process which will result in a telephone call to the student’s parent or legal guardian, our child protection officer or the Police.

Attendance automatically terminates upon the student reaching their eighteenth birthday. However, the student may continue with the Academy subject to agreed terms with the Academy Principal.

CHILD PROTECTION

All Academy Principals, teachers and helpers are covered by an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Certificate (CRB) and hold a Certificate in Child Protection from SAFEchild. At least one Academy staff is a first aider; all Academies are covered by indemnity insurance. Where necessary the venue will hold a current PRS certificate. All these documents’ are available on request from the Academy Principal.

FEES

Fees are paid monthly as specified in the fees schedule and are payable in advance by Direct Debit Mandate. The fee schedule will begin on the first of the following month assuming the given start date is not within 10 days prior to this date. If so the fee schedule will begin on the first of the following month. The first fee payment will include a charge for all sessions between the given start date and the first scheduled payment date. Sibling discount of approximately 25% applies, this is for the younger student and only applies if the older sibling is fully up to date and active, this cannot be taken with any other discount that may be applicable at the time. Fees are collected by PQA head office on behalf of the Academy Principal.

PQA head office will advise students or the student’s parent or legal guardian, giving no less than 10 working days notice, as to any changes in the fee schedule.

It is the sole responsibility of students or the student’s parent or legal guardian to ensure that funds are available at the time of fee payment. Demands for unpaid fees will attract a 10% handling charge on the overdue balance per demand.

TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

Four weeks notice of termination of attendance must be made in writing to PQA Ltd, P.O. Box 1305, High Wycombe. HP10 9YG or via email to info@pqacademy.com. PQA head office on behalf of the Academy Principal will respond in writing to set out the terms of the notice period and advise the final fee payment date (if any). Any overpayment of fees will be refunded no less than 10 days following the termination date. Refunds for historical Quarterly or Annual payments where the period of discount is not met will exclude the discount. Should notice or termination not be received fees will remain applicable for attendance regardless of whether the member is attending classes or not.

The Academy Principal reserves the right to terminate attendance at their discretion given reasonable grounds upon which to do so. Should this be the case attendance will terminate with immediate effect and fees will be liable only up to this date.

ANOMLIES

The Academy Principal reserves the right to exclude from lessons any student that they deem to do so for whatever reason they wish to.

From time to time PQA may award a place at an Academy to competition winners. This award will be limited to the period specified in the competition and membership will be subject to our standard terms of membership. Following the specified award period the student may elect to leave the Academy or to enrol paying the appropriate fee.

Students participate at their own risk and are obliged to inform The Academy Principal and its staff of any existing injuries or medical conditions.

Students are obliged to take care of their own belongings. The Academy Principal or PQA Limited will accept no liability for lost or damaged belongings.

In the event of unforeseen venue closure due to conditions out side of our control (for example; adverse weather, school events, venue or venue grounds deemed dangerous) an additional day will be scheduled at the end of the current term.

The liability of The Academy Principal, PQA Limited and that of its staff is restricted to class time only and then only to gross negligence or intent. Failure to carry out an important contractual obligation is governed by the normal standard of a duty of care.

We reserve the right to modify, cancel or append these terms and conditions and upon doing shall provide you with notification that a change has been made, the most current terms and conditions will always appear on this website or version of.
