Gore In Mallorca!

In Mallorca we had a Special Effects Masterclass with Curtis Iggulden. We had loads of fun with make up, fake wounds and plenty of fake blood!

Curtis Iggulden has worked in the film industry for many years. As a trainee, 18 years ago, he was responsible for the bubbles/smoke & steam effects of the lab featured in “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein” by Kenneth Branagh . Since then, he has worked on many films.

Some of these include: 28 days later and 28 weeks later – by Danny Boyle Children of Men – with Clive Owen How to Lose Friends and Alienate Yourself – with Simon Pegg The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus – starring Heath Ledger The Boat that Rocked – with Bill Nighy Harry Brown – with Michael Caine His work involves creating special effects such as wind, rain and fire.

Also, he might be needed to create wounds or make-up effects for characters such as casualties or even zombies! He has just finished working on a Danny Boyle film due out in 2012, called Trance. For this film, he was responsible for the ‘bullet hits’ and exploding cars.

Check out the photos below. Be warned, contains graphic make up!
