MASTER CLASS – UPDATE
We have a ‘Casualty’ make up Masterclass for Saturday 21st January. Hannah Wing began her career working with woman wanting advice and lessons on how to apply daytime and occasion makeup, building a portfolio of bridal clients. With a background in theatre and a passion for the industry, Hannah soon expanded her business and began working her makeup magic on diverse projects from catwalk and photographic assignments to documentary and film incorporating both special effects and face and body art. HD TV and film meant an ever increasing demand for flawless celebrity makeup and this is where Hannah’s skills excelled. Becoming an ex-pert at airbrushing, Hannah has gone on to teach industry professionals from across the globe including at major TV stations ITV, SKY and BBC.
WHAT ARE WE WORKING ON…
Comedy & Drama
We have a number of students who have been entered in a local drama festival, so everyone is currently improving how they read prose & poetry. We will also work on monologues & duologues. Eventually we will design and create our own masks for a ’mask theatre performance’
Musical Theatre
We will be looking at different musical numbers leading to an end of year performance of one of the musicals. Watch this space for more details…
Film & TV
We will be building on specific projects to then enter into the film festival. This will lead to our very own film showing…
POPPETS
The Poppets will learn a range of skills as well as obtaining ones already learnt. In our first week Poppets will be using their imagination and so-forth at the Circus, building it for the future. They will perform in small groups towards the end of the class to help build confidence in performance and socially. Week two will give the Poppets the opportunity to use interpretation as they take lead roles from a book they may, or may not have studied at school. Week three is going to stretch the imagination and keep the Poppets fit as we shall climb mountains and dig through hard rock and sand in our discovery of lost lands. Week four will try to incorporate all the skills learnt, but with a focus on making them think creatively and share ideas. We shall study the famous book ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’.
