At the core of PQA’s philosophy is a belief that our students should really enjoy their time with us.
Our modules are all about students having fun as we build their confidence and self-esteem, expand their imaginations and they learn valuable skills essential for everyday life.
Work in the performing arts requires commitment and discipline and we also instill those values in our students so that everyone can work in a productive and mutually supportive atmosphere.
We have a stringent set of minimum standards that all our teaching staff must reach before they can work for us. To ensure our staff are always at the top of their game, we conduct regular assessments of their classes and provide them with training in specific areas when necessary. All of this is overseen by our Creative Directors who have considerable experience both in the arts and also in performing arts education.
All our staff undergo a rigorous recruitment procedure which naturally includes an enhanced CRB check and will have completed the SAFEchild child protection course.
All students are issued with photo ID cards and must sign-in on entering the Academy and sign-out when leaving. We know that some older students will make their own way to and from the Academy, and we respect this by always issuing these students with their own leavers pass. Should any expected student not arrive on time our Principals are instructed to telephone the parent to check everything is OK.
On Academy days an authorised member of the team will:
- Ensure all children are signed in.
- Contact you in the event of an unauthorised absence.
- Record all accidents and/or illnesses in the accident book.
- Inform you of any illness or sickness affecting your child.
- Inform you immediately should your child need hospital treatment.
- Be available as a runner for toilet visits for our younger students.
- Ensure the area is free from any unauthorised persons.
- Ensure all children are signed out unless we have a specific note from yourselves or the child is aged 14 or over.
All PQAcademies carry full liability insurance, conduct regular risk assessments and have a qualified first aider on site at all times. PQA is continuously looking at ways for providing the best performing arts training in the safest possible environment.
All regulatory documents can be inspected upon request at any of our Academies including CRB disclosures, insurances and operating procedures.
