When I was a kid, some of my happiest memories, some of the most exciting, fun-filled inspirational times were those I spent at drama classes. Drama gives young people so many essential skills and wonderful experiences. From building confidence and improving speech and voice to honing listening skills and using your imagination. Drama offers the chance to explore yourself and the world outside as well as to escape to the furthest flung depths of your imagination. In drama you can be a Shakespearian Jester one minute and an alien from Mars the next. There are no limits, only possibilities and bucket-loads of fun and laughter.

So, that's where PQA comes from. A new generation of weekend drama schools aimed at 5-18 year olds, which will be very different from anything you might have tried or read about before!

First and foremost, PQA is about fun not fame and that's the vital element we ensure runs through everything we do. We're about experiencing new things, learning new skills, polishing your talents, making new friends and having a good time. If some students decide they might like to pursue a career in the performing arts, we have the staff, expertise and experience to help them but we would never push students down this road.

What makes us so different? Well, rather than offer three separate modules (usually drama, dance and singing), we see the three as more integrated. Our Acting class covers everything from comedy to drama and by combining dance and singing within our musical theatre module we are able to offer a unique third module in Television and Film, something which students of all ages are very familiar with, find extremely relevant and really enjoy. Also, we don't stick to school term dates but run classes for 44 weeks of the year, meaning there's no risk of holiday boredom ever setting in!

I have assembled a highly experienced team of teachers, directors and industry professionals to create the unique teaching modules for PQA.
Please see 'Our People'.

As for me, although I am not qualified to teach or expect to, I hope I am able to bring my knowledge and experience gained from over 30 years of acting, not only to all the teaching modules but to the whole ethos of what PQA strives to achieve.

We want to share our passion for the world of performing arts with the children but most of all, have fun along the way.

Best wishes, Pauline. X

PS; I hope to see you at one of my many impromtu academy visits throughout the year.
