How We Work

After you’ve signed your child in, he or she will join their friends in a group warm-up. Students then divide into groups according to their age and rotate through hour-long sessions in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre and Film & Television, working with specialist tutors in each discipline. The content of the classes is tailored to the age groups and there is a short break during the sessions so that students can have a drink or snack.

Along with skills based work, we also have many performance opportunities and over the course of a typical year, we try hard to make sure that everyone gets an equal chance to perform and demonstrate their progress.

A family atmosphere is important to us at PQA. Most Academies have tea and coffee on offer so that parents can drop in a little early for an informal chat and a drink before collecting and signing-out their children. We will also keep in touch with you via our regular Academy newsletters and the Academy ‘microsite’ on the web. You can monitor your child’s progress through our unique Creative Stages Awards Scheme and see for yourself the numerous performance opportunities we have.
