PQA LEICESTER WOWS THE WEST END!

At PQA Leicester, we are always proud of our talented students, but we’ve never been more proud than on the evening of Sunday 9th June when 100 of our students took to the stage of Her Majesty’s Theatre in London in a breath taking performance of ‘Fright Night’.

Surrounded by props and costumes from the theatre’s resident show, ‘Phantom of the Opera’, the students (all aged between 6 and 17 years) dazzled their parents and their proud teachers in a high energy, flawless performance of the new musical written by PQA Creative Directors Simon James Green and Sarah Counsell.

MINI MASTERCLASS IN BALLET FOR PQA OXFORD POPPETS

The first Master Class was for the Poppets where they learnt all about ballet.

This Mini Master Class was taught by Hayley Wareham, Grade 8 in ballet and also a trained dancer in jazz and contemporary. She has performed ballet at various venues, most recently at The White Lodge in Richmond, and the BBC Media Centre. The Poppets learnt all about ‘The Nutcracker’ and became toys, rats, fairies and soldiers. They learnt various dance steps and performed a dance to their family and friends at the end of the class.

Here are some photographs from the session.

WICKFORD GREEN GROUP’S PROSE & POETRY SHOWCASE

Huge congratulations to PQA Wickford’s Green Group who performed their prose and poetry showcase to parents on 15th June. They presented their own comedy version of the Greek myth Pandora’s Box and then we were treated to a selection of poems by Roger McGough, finishing with The Lesson where a headmaster and teacher take deadly revenge on their rowdy pupils.

Very tricky Greek names such as Hephaestus, Epimetheus, Prometheus and Aphrodite were pronounced perfectly; mask work was done with ease; and three students learnt extra lines effortlessly on the day as one student unfortunately couldn’t attend. What a bunch of superstars!
