Huge success of Wolverhampton open day
Wolverhampton PQA opened it’s doors on Saturday 12th May with a rush for places. Over one hundred prospective students and their families turned out to see what PQA was all about and by the end of the day 70 had handed application forms to us.
Poppets has been so well subscribed that we have added an additional teacher in Leanne who had originally been the assistant teacher for Green group, this is to maintain the 8:1 ratio of teachers to students in this class.
Everybody at PQA Wolverhampton is very excited at the response and looking forward to getting to know all of our students.
PQA RUTLAND – NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN!
PQA Rutland enjoyed an action-packed Open Day last Saturday 12th May, with the residents of England’s smallest county being introduced to the Pauline Quirke Academy’s brilliant classes and fantastic teachers!
Students took part in Musical Theatre, Comedy and Drama and Film and Television classes, before being treated to a sneaky peek at some of the films that have featured in our regular red carpet events (where students get to watch their own films on the big screen of the cinema we hire out just for that purpose)!
It was an exciting, fun packed morning, summed up best by the parent of one of our new students;
‘Our daughter had a fabulous time, she thoroughly enjoyed every lesson and really took to the individual teachers. She and the other young ladies in her group have been in frequent contact since and are all so excited about this Saturday’s and future sessions!’PQA Belfast Musical Theatre Showcase Triumph

PQA Northampton opens to a great reception (despite the wind and rain!)
PQA Northampton opened its doors last Saturday to a queue of people who had braved the bad weather to see what lessons at PQA are all about.
Everyone enjoyed taster sessions in Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre, and got to watch themselves on screen, after appearing in front of the camera for the first time, in Film and Television!
All had a fantastic morning and we are looking forward to many more!

Sandy from Grease is totally devoted to PQA Northampton!
After an amazing Open Day last week, this Saturday Carina Gillespie popped in to visit our academy!
Carina is currently playing the role of Sandy in the national tour of Grease, after successfully playing the role in the West End.
Carina was shown around the academy before heading off to Northampton’s Derngate Theatre for her matinee performance. She was introduced to the students and answered questions at the end of the morning on what it’s like to be a professional actress.
We would like to thank Carina very much for coming to visit us, and giving us all an informative insight as to what the industry is like.
Good luck with the rest of the tour from all here at PQA Northampton!
Esther Smith in South Pacific.
The touring production of South Pacific comes to Aylesbury Waterside Theatre from 15th – 26th May, and one of PQA Aylesbury’s students has landed the part of Bloody Mary’s assistant!
Esther auditioned for the part through PQA and it was her first ever audition. As well as playing the assistant, Esther must also learn the other children’s parts and a song.
We wish her well and look forward to seeing her on the stage!
